Have London Tigers cut links with Kingsbury?

HAS the pitch improved at viking.coffee%20%282%29.gif

I gather it makes the Emirates look like Wembley in the late 60's early 70's, no expense has been spared

An article from the Ealing Gazette recently:

HOST A MATCH OR FACE A FINE,TIGERS TOLD

London Tigers have been given a last chance to stage a home match before they face a heavy fine from the Spartan League. The Maida Vale outfit have been nomads since their Perivale changing rooms were vandalised on October 8 and have been forced to play all matches away.

However, it seems patience has finally run out, and match secretary Mike Wilkins has been warned failure to stage their fixture with Stotfold on Saturday week could result in a £500 fine for that and every game they fail to host.

Wilkins said: "The league have been helpful and sympathetic to our situation until now, but they have league rules, some of which are imposed on them by the FA, and they have to abide by them."

The landlords at Perivale, London Playing Fields, have made it plain there is no chance of the ground being ready for the Stotfold game or the following week, and Tigers may have to go cap in hand to their previous ground at Kingsbury in the hope of staging fixtures there.

Wilkins said it had already been discussed but the rent was too high.

Tell you what, let's not have league officials, and leave it up to clubs to arrange their own games and play on any old sh1theap that they fancy eh? When it all goes t1ts up, the clubs could form some sort of committee to sort things out. Perhaps players' dads could form this "committee". There are enough of them around.

tell me then......what help is it to the club to have a threat of a £500 per game fine hanging over them?

maybe they should do a Tik Tok...seems better bet than the honest approach Winslow took

there is enough bending over backwards for teams playing at Athletic clubs and cricket grounds at start of season which (imo)

gives them an unfair advantage

and dont give me all the old poppycock about how hard it is to do fixtures.....a ten year old with a calendar could produce in advance a seasons fixture list for the SSML.....but seeing as that is not possible at least the monthly list should make it easier to adjust fixtures

and notice i said 'some' blazers

I think biggest problem is consistency on things like this some clubs seem to get away with things and others don't I remember kings Langley not getting their lights when thy were given a deadline and they were allowed to stay in div 1 and the rest of the sides had to kick off at 2 in winter months at theirs which is a disadvantage. Lots of other examples of teams getting away with it. However I do appreciate where Horace is coming from but there are things that do need looking at.

Keeps - If London Tigers had done their homework, and not been so hasty in going behind Tokyngton Manor's backs, they might have found out before it was too late that playing at the Viking Sports Ground can be a curse of Amityville Horror proportions, like I said I don't really have any sympathy for them

Keeps - You make it sound like Tokyngton Manor committed a heinous crime by using their initiative and approaching Amersham Town for a groundshare after they were stabbed in the back by London Tigers and the London Playing Fields Federation, also what do you mean 'honest approach' where Winslow United were concerned as they have their own ground so can call the tune, nobody forced them to take a season's sabbatical.

No Tik Tok knew they didn't have suitable facilities and refused to accept they couldn't play on them and more importantly force teams to risk life and limb and should have admitted this and pulled out. We were left in the lurch somewhat by a manager and a group of players and knew that close to the season we couldn't get a competitive side together (few clubs who will remain nameless have been non competitive for long periods) so the tough decision was made to pull the senior sides for a year so we could re group. I wouldn't expect you to understand the concept of honesty though Rhodes. So Xmas forum drinks then Rhodes?

NeutralFan – It’s a tiny World isn’t it as I often go to Phibbers, it’s a decent pub but, for a Tottenham fan like you it’s deep into Arsenal territory. I expect there will be quite a bit of talent on show tonight if it’s a students fancy dress, I may make an appearance.
