The plans will be approved tonight. Anything other than a unanimous approval would be a big suprize.

Sorry James, but nothing surpises me with this council. They're all too predictable.

If nothing surprises you about the council, how are they predictable?

On a more serious note I think you are now entering a six month period where any possible objections have to be made to the relevant secretary of state, who very rarely supports an objection when the same political party are in power both locally and nationally. Always best to keep a low profile during this period as its never wise to provoke potential objectors.

Good luck with your venture as I know from reading things on this forum how hard you have all worked to make this happen. I know personally how difficult it dealing with a local authority when they are supportive, so when a council is less than enthusiastic to achieve what you have done is nothing short of a minor miracle.

Well done to all concerned, I am so so jealous.

I think you'll find the first part of my sentence confirms the second part. If they DID surprised me then they WOUDN'T be predictable would they?

Are'nt those artists impressions just the sexiest pictures you have seen in ages ?

Well done so far MFC.

Bollxxks to naming rights and sponsorship monies-does KP minimally deserve to have one of the stands named after him-as well as his knighthood

So can anyone tell me when building can start? Have the lease terms to be sorted first?

Yes. A meeting with the Council is already scheduled.

Thanks for that Missunderstood. What is the latest on Westlands? You had permission in 2009 but I can't find any more info since then.

You won't find too much out about Romford because they have a closed forum which holds their details.Unfortunatly for Romford, they have people in positions of power who don't seem to listen to certain fans who offer help.Me and misunderstood have had plenty of run ins over the years but to be honest he comes out with ideas/guidance and is shot down by others who are so set in their ways that they are just ruining any chance of progression. The funny thing is,that although Hornchurch & Romford both hate each other, the majority of Hornchurch fans, myself included would welcome them back to the borough (as long as they stay in the west of the borough). But when you have a closed forum/website when you are trying to get more of a profile, what chance do you have??

Not to sure if its etiquette for supporters of other clubs to air their differences on another clubs forum but as is so often the case, Eastside Urchin talks a lot of sense. Coffin Ender kindly asked how the Westlands project was progressing and I'm sure he wont be surprised to know that the main problem is raising the money to make our dream a reality. In these difficult financial times its hard to find moneymen to give money to a small football club (their not investors as they never get their money back). I spent a great deal of time looking at the possibility of having wind turbines on the floodlight pylons (the technology is certainly there) as the generous guaranteed income that could have been earned by feeding into the national grid would have enabled the club to finance a mortgage that would have payed for a large proportion of the stadium, unfortunately like most councils, ours love to talk "green" but in reality couldn't care less about the environment or the impact that sport can have on crime prevention and giving youngsters self esteem and the confidence to make something of their lives.

Out of curiosity if a groundshare arrangement with your bitterest rivals would be of great financial benefit to both clubs, how would the majority of both sets of fans respond?

I think the interest to Margate fans & hierarchy is not to go down the same route as Romford have.Surely once a new stadium is given the go ahead then publicity should be max,not hidden behind closed doors with the hope that some old codger is going to pop his or hers cloggs leaving the club a fortune
