Awesome.....

 

Would have a cheeky score on Enfield @ them odds definatley. They came back strong last season and did what they had to do against the defending champions Stansted. Assume the ground issues have been sorted and promotion is a must for them.

 

As an each way bet (top 4), what odds you giving out on Barking. I fancy them for a strong season.

I will be told by dumber and dumber that i have issues, but the only purpose these threads serve. Is for the players of Bethnal Green, Southend Manor and Burnham Ramblers, the expected contenders behind the considered main two Enfield and Witham, to heap pressure on these two clubs and take it off of themselves that is why all these threads make Witham, Enfield favorites.

 

Witham have spent 3 seasons in this division and although would hope to return to the Ryman they know it will only get harder. Enfield disapointed from being turned down from promotion may experience a hangover similar to Witham's.

 

The other 3 are as much favorites as the Enfield, Witham. I would expect Barkingside to be there or there abouts again, put last year down to a lapse and would love to see Bowers contending too.

Well said...I have sat back and read the cr@p from G'hopper Mark for a while now without comment but I can see why people get annoyed with his constant moaning.

 

I hardly think any Witham or Enfield players would lose sleep over what I or anyone else thinks on here, if they did then they have serious life issues - get a grip.

As I said, this is not a bite up (trying to explain as it doesn't seem to go into your brain) and the forum is only read by a few people so mind games don't come into it, its the ESL you wally, not the Champions league. The Fact is, Enfield and Witham have bigger budgets than the rest FACT - that's not right, that's not wrong...but they are the ones gunning for promotion and desperate to achieve it.

Also you say you not associated with anyone, yet your almost have kittens anytime Witham is mentioned -

To be honest, just because a club has got a playing budget, doesn't mean it is going to win the league.

 

Takeley have now got a budget, but they are paying the same old players as last year who aren't even worth a bag of chips in the clubhouse, but think they are far better than they actually are.

Ignoring some of the absolute tripe that's being spoken on here...

 

I think Hullbridge could be dark horses; was impressed by the side that Enrico has put together. We're playing Burnham on Tuesday so will find out a bit more about them; but I would guess Keith has assembled a strong side; seen a few of his signings already and if the rest of his team are of a similar quality they will do well.

 

Going back to the tedious budget issue, at ESL level; money means f*ck all. Money may buy you a better quality of player, but it doesn't buy you a TEAM, you can't put a price on work ethic and team spirit.

 

That is one reason I expect Southend Manor to do ok, along with Bethnal. Between them they do epitomise what is good about a 'team' at this level, mostly mates playing together, and willing to work hard for each other. That's what will get you points on a cold November night, not a £20 note.

 

And Groundhopper Mark - you are getting boring mate. Wind your neck in a bit.

I am involved with South Midlands League club but we played Takeley in a friendly two weeks ago as we have done in the previous 2 years beforehand. They have a much better side than they have had in previous years. Quite a young side played excellent football and a good tempo throughout.. Will suit their excellent playing surface the way they play.

Half of the team that you played won't be there at the start of the season once they find out that only certain players are being paid, and they need to sort out thier defence. They will be middle table at best.
