Windsor vs slough vs rain

Recommended Posts

I know it was Windsor's first game and all that, but it doesn't excuse the fact that for most of the game Windsor looked sharper, fitter and generally much more organised and passionate.

Our goal came from when we crossed the ball into the area and the only time in the game there was somebody big to get on the end of it (no surprises there!), but apart from that I can only recall 1 save their 'keeper had to make. Windsor had several other glaring chances as well as hitting the post.

I think 2-1 flattered us slightly.

I think I'd sum that up as "Dis"...........Disjointed, disinterested and disappointing. That's an afternoon of my life I'll never get back.

Can't disagree, as usual we over elaborate, get caught in possession and our back 4 are exposed. Incidently where were our back 4? What's Harper doing at left back, is he a trialist?! Poor show from us but half decent attendance for a friendly, 320+.

We certainly looked a bit keener in this match than in the Holyport one and once again Mpi looked good when he came on, he offered something a little different.

But on the whole we were poor. How comes 3 friendlies in we are having to borrow players because we are short. No Brown or NBH and suddenly the centre of defence looks very bare. Logie had a stinker today but it's not his position.

Up front Sonner and Burnell ran about a lot but didn't create much, although Danny took the goal well. First game for Sinclair and it showed, but he couldn't complain about the pitch. Marsala was fairly invisible.

No dissent from the players that I saw which must be good.

Burnell appeared unhappy went he went off and Sonner returned. Was he injured? Let's hope not.

I assume that Swift is on holiday but any news on NBH. SB appears to have pinned his hopes on his return but no sign of him yet.

We looked very dis-jointed with no link up play between defence, midfield and attack. I don't remember the Windsor keepers making a save all match but likewise I don't think Fanner or Jacko made a save.

Three defenders missing, waste of time playing Dean Harper but can only assume there was nobody else in the squad who could cover at left back.

Still don't know about Charlie Mpi due to only getting about 10 minutes in Tuesday game and todays. I would like to think he will be starting the game on Tuesday.

True.........but don't expect me to be wasting six quid again watching that sort of dross in a meaningless pre-season game. I'll see you all when we play Aylesbury.
