Obviously I dont know but I would imagine Welford earns one of the best wages - just accept a reasonable offer for him and get him off the wage bill..

 

I cant remember (alan you will probably know) Did we pay anything for him at the start of last season or was it on a free?

I believe we did!! A source told me that if he goes we could afford 3 more players.

Gotta be honest slightly worried by this move ....

Welford is at this level a decent ''recognised out and out striker'', maybe a bit tubby but does get the double figure goals pretty much wherever hes gone....can margate replace him?

Yes and no. Half his goals came in 2 games though.

I think we will replace him especially as we have Bradbrook, a similar type of player IMO.

Well for what its worth.I still like Welford and would like to see him here for another season, surely with his work rate two positives.. he will score goals,and/or allow others midfield & strikers to score goals.

From what I hear we got a couple of young strikers on trial, one a target man, the other small and pacey - so we should be able to replace him

I think that it is a big mistake letting him go. If he got fit during pre season and stayed clear of injury we would have had a 20 goal man. i watched him a few times last season do not think he got the service last year.

 

Dare i say it watched him at Ramsgate on his day he is unplayable big mistake ck come back to haunt us i am sure

They seem to be going down the same route as our last season managment. For Jay's sake i hope he as not blown his budget on expensive old pals as happened last season. Lessons learned?

Be interesting to see how Jay does. Expectations will be high, that's for sure. SW has been bought on his achievements of several years ago. I know strikers have dry spells but no goal in open play since November is quite a drought.
