Why did I not think of that?

A late Saturday Kick Off in Guernsey say 6pm,this would allow the Players and the Travelling hordes of Supporters, plenty of time to get there, and be rested pre match,or take in the sites.Post match celebrations can begin around 8.30pm,taking in the Guernsey night life, fly back Sunday.Everyone is happy then.Well I would be,how about it Guernsey F.C.

Lol,obviously it would be an option,I sometimes wish my club would try a Friday night fixture to see if the gate was higher ,although with guernsey & the ccl this would not be an option as it would mean players taking days off.Personally I would leave it up to the leagues & clubs to sort as ultimately they are the ones who are involved

What's good for the Goose,is good for the Gander. But would the C.C.L. Endorse it.The feeling I have is that it is o.k. with Clubs with no Lights to have 1pm K.O.but this must not be the norm.

I'm sure the CCL mind too much unless they want to have the tables done by a certain time Sat night/Sun am. I suppose last game of the season would have to be the same time finishing as everyone else though.

:brille008: Guernsey are topical, they have 2000 followers, remember when Whitley Bay joined up last year, there was a hotbed of banter. But i do have a selfish interest, getting £5 out of their pockets for the hallowed Gold Membership is my main aim.:97: Edited by Smudge

Indeed.

It's Windsor I have more concerns about being placed at step 5.

At least Guernsey, as a new club, are starting at step 6 where they should.

You just have to look at Windsor's website to see how much they're pushing the 'new' club bit all the time.

Latest news - FA Vase - 'very first'.

July 6th - 'first hat-trick'

Also July 6th - 'first friendly'

Also July 6th re Scotty The Stag - 'first ever game'

And so it goes on. In almost every news item they're saying 'first ever' or similar. If they're a new team why don't they start at step 6 like Guernsey? Maybe they're hoping if they say it enough people might just swallow it without thinking about what's happened in the past.

Still, at least the FA have had the wisdom not to accept them into the FA Cup which they used to do with reformed clubs. There was so much said about teams like Farnborough, FC Halifax and AFC Telford being allowed to compete in it in their alleged first season that the FA appear to have backtracked in recent years.

What I don't understand is that most of the times, these new clubs ate either run by the fans or run by new owners with who had nothing to do with the demise of the previous clubs. Why penalise the fans and owners who had nothing to do with financial wrong doings by expelling the new club from the fa cup when surely these new clubs and their fans should be being helped.

Fans always have to suffer for everything, that's football ;)

What concerns me is the way clubs keep on going down the road of boom and bust, knowing the worst that can happen is that they shave a bit off of their name and then drop a couple of levels and pretend it never happened. Meanwhile lots of local businesses, St John's Ambulance etc carry the can as usual. Look at Stockport County, in a week they've gone from 'not going to do a Chester' to 'not going to do a Crawley'. It's mad, they were virtually a basket case a few days ago, now they are bidding £100K for a League 1 player. I believe they don't own Edgely Park anymore. Anyone like to guess where this is all going to end? How about Stockport Town playing in the EvoStik Premier.

And so it goes on....
