Welcome to the real world Guernsey.

Will you stop the Guernsey bashing please. We are in this league wether you like it or not.

GET OVER IT !

GD just wanted to say that all the players and teams that i have talked too are really excited that your team is in our league welcome and good luck for the season but you are the team everybody wants to beat and that is the same in the premier with new team windsor and eaton

Thanks for the post. I know there are many clubs and supporters looking forward to playing us and visiting us.

But there is also a fair amount of negativity going on as well.

I'm going to try to not take the bait anymore but its hard not to when people are slagging off your club before a ball has been kicked.

What a game and a brilliant effort by our lads tonight against a side many leagues above us. Yes they had youth players playing but they also had 1st team squad members playing as well. We gave them a few goals by sloppy defending and 1 goal keeping howler. We also had a stonewall penalty turned down and a poor offside decision when we scored so really we should have won the game.

It was only a friendly so I wasn't too annoyed lol !

Attendance 1,060 I predicted 1,000 so I wasn't far out lol !

Bring on Bristol City next Saturday !

Please note !!

Anyone on the mainland in the CCL beat that ?

I think not !

Welcome to the real world Guernsey.

result 6-5 to AFC

We out played AFC and gifted them goals. So We should have won so there !

Top 3 no probs

I was behind the goal and our 2nd goal should not have stood as it wasn't even close to being over the line.

lol ! I couldn't tell from the stand but AFC didn't complain at all so I thought it must have been a clearly over ?

Watch the highlights on channelonline.tv and you will see what i'm talking about :)

Great to see the Officiating was up to the usual C.C.L. Standard cheesy%20(2).gif Great playing surface though.

lol ! The officials were $hite ! Not just on decisions for us for AFC as well.

Our pitch looked superb on the night. Our rugby team also plays on it so we will have to see how it stands up over the season

The crowd was very vocal as well. It would be interesting to hear what the players thought of the crowd.

We applauded their goals as well particularly the cracking AFC free kick. So we are a good natured fair crowd I would say.

Guildford City 4 v 1 Worcester Park

Molesey 4 v 1 Reading Town

Molesey Reserves 1 v 2 Weston Green

A few uncropped pics from the Molesey v Reading Town game. I liked the Moles 4 in the second pic and Reading 8 in the last one.

Firstly, I repeat my previous comment/post that I for one think the inclusion of Guernsey to the CCL is a breathe of fresh air, so well done to the CCL in having the the nerve and taking the chance in inviting Guernsey to the CCL and for the other member clubs to allow their admission to the league. For the teams visisting Guernsey this season, enjoy the moment and experience the day/s gives you then perhaps the doubters may have a change of mind.

GD, Trebor and GG thought defensively Guernsey were suspect especially to the long ball down the centre, where I thought your 2 centre backs had howlers in dealing with the situation for 2 goals + a keepers error for another. Going forward Guernsey looked good especially if given time on the ball.

Overall definitely Top 3 CCL Div 1 but please remember, I believe AFC Reserves/Youth are equivilant to say Step 6 maybe 5, so please do not get too carried away at the moment, but the signs there are very promising !

Chertsey vs Hemel Hempstead for me!!

and me!

JJ, Pagey Chertsey lost 4-0 what went wrong ? Were Hemel Hempstead that good ?

Hemel Hempstead were top quality. I'd overheard that 8 of the starting 11 had played together for at least the past 6 years which was evident with the way they understood each other. Very strong team and powerful players.

Chertsey had some trialists playing and a couple of youngsters. Still missing 3-4 players that would start thru holidays and injuries.

Fortunately Chertsey will not come across a team as good as Hemel Hempstead again.

Very well said, NG !

..........and I'm sure that all Div 1 home teams on the mainland will give Guernsey the usual good CCL welcome and hospitality !!

All I'm gonna say is we were taught a valuable lesson yesterday, best team I've seen non league by a country mile.

Banstead Athletic 1 Bedfont Town 5 - a decent work-out for Coops's squad, 22 of them used today...

GP who were the scorers for both teams ? -

The opener was an OG when Reggie Savage hit a hard low cross from the left in what was a one-sided first 20-25 mins. We conceded just before ht when a 'trialist' made a mistake in the penalty area to gift a goal, I'm sure El Gaffer knows who I'm talking about ;) . Identical second half worldies from Wayne O'Sullivan (2) and substitutes Dan Corani and Gabs Odunaike made it 5, should have been more to be fair but our other forwards missed a few at the end.

We now have a full Wimbledon First Team on Thursday, Brentford XI on Saturday and Dagenham XI on Thursday so will be interesting to see how some of these lads cope against pro quality...all welcome down of course.

A little off topic, as this result is from today - Sandhurst 2-0 Brighton XI

Good performance overall by Fizzers on a nice pitch (no sand this time!), against a very young looking Brighton side. I think it was Elnino that scored the second, towards the end of the second half. Good to see the stand is open again and just as well with the weather during the match! rain.gif

Kroons, maybe you should transfer your allegiance to Sandhurst as they didn't play long ball!
