margate-fc.com - The New Bits

Recommended Posts

There have been a few new bits added to the Official website to coincide with the 2011/12 fixtures being released. To be perfectly honest, there should have been more but for some reason I thought the fixtures were going to be released on the 21st so it became a rush to get these ready! With that in mind there may be the odd glitch or odd bit of formatting so if you spot one, let me know.

There are more new features to come over the next few weeks but for now.....

FIXTURES/RESULTS

SEARCHING FIXTURES/RESULTS

The new 'Click Here To Search Matches....' enables you to search all of Margate's games back to 2001/02. If you click on it, you will see a search form appear. The Database can be searched via any combination of anything there so you can choose all away games in the Kent Cup and FA Trophy, or all games against Ramsgate between two dates or any other combination.

When the search results are being displayed, it wil also inform you of what is being shown, ie. 'Showing all home games against AFC Hornchurch in Isthmian League Premier Division' and the key to the competitions at the bottom of the page updates accordingly.

There is also error checking so if you put in an end date without a start date, or a start date later than the end date, a message appears to say so.

At the top of the page there are now also quick links to the other seasons.

In the actual fixtures themselves there are three changes and all involve cupgames.

Firstly, I did not realise that replays were not showing up before but they donow. For example, if you are on the 2010/11 page, the replay againstKingstonian shows up as 'FAC2Qr'.

Secondly, there was a bit of contention about games decided on penaltiesshowing up as a draw as that was the actual 'in-play' outcome. Once again, thatKingstonian game showed up as a draw as it finished 1-1 but now, any games decided on penalties show a win or loss based on the penalty outcome, so the Kingstonian game now shows up as a loss.

Finally, the 'AET' bit after the score will turn into a mouseover with thepenalty shootout outcome, if the game went to penalties. This replaces the '?'that was there before.

At the very bottom there is a key to the competitions played in that season.

MATCH DETAILS PAGE

Just a few tweaks for now but there is more on it's way with this one. Once again, if the game is a replay it shows it and also, if the game has not been played, or there is no line-up available, it now shows'No Line-Up Available' instead of that weird open bit that is currently there.

LEAGUE STATISTICS

There are now a few statistics that can be found under TEAMS>FIRST TEAM>STATISTICS>LEAGUE on the main menu. These take into account all Ryman Premier fixtures and results, not just Margate's.

There are.....

MATCHES - which shows all Ryman Premier matches (filterable by month) for 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12

MATCH STATS - giving things such as goals per game, percentages of clean sheets between home and away games and biggest home wins/highest scoring games etc for 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2011/12, although obviously all the 2011/12 one is showing at the moment is 100% games still to play!

ATTENDANCES - this shows the ten highest and ten lowest attendances for the league and also an attendances table. This is only for 2009/10 and 2010/11 at the moment but as soon as the first days fixtures are played, 2011/12 will appear too.

All of these pages are 'dynamic' so all of the 2011/12 pages will automatically update as matches are played.
