Absolutely nothing to do with our new winger but one of our old boys who played left back and left wing has today signed for Fleet Spurs in the Sydenhams Wessex League, the one and only Alex Haddow.

I wonder how old he is now?

Certainly taken a drop in leagues.

A small point but I looked at the player directory to try and find out his age (which wasn't given) and I noticed that it gave his position as a defender?

Wales and Gore sign up for two years

Monday 30th May 2011

Gore%20contract%20web%20May%202011.JPGFollowing the news at the end of the season that captain Danny Talbot had committed to the club for another year, and the recent contract extension for Andy Leese and Jon Meakes, we are delighted to announce that both Shane Gore and Steve Wales have signed two year contracts with Chesham United.

Club chairman Alan Calder was delighted to secure the agreement and the contracts were signed last weekend. "The commitment of two such quality players shows the ambition we have as a club and is a fantastic start to the summer months as we look to build on the successes of last season, on and off the field. Both Shane and Steve have created interest from other clubs and I am delighted that they have chosen to stay with us for another two seasons. I lost count of the number of times last season that I heard opposition supporters and directors commenting that they believe we have the best goalkeeper and best midfielder in the league, I can't argue with that, and having them with us for another two seasons is a huge boost to our promotion push.

"I know that Andy Leese is already getting commitment from other key players in the team and is also looking to strengthen in certain departments. The change from this time last year has been immense, with all the uncertainly about being a supporters run club we were bombarded with other clubs looking to take our best players away; twelve months on and things have gone the other way, top quality players are now asking to join us here at Chesham United."
