Shame to hear that kind of news weather true or not , but in some way dosent come as a suprise Basildon are a club with huge potential i.e a good catchment area a acceptable ground (does need work doing to it) hench the potential comment, however the club is soooo baldy run people who have played/been involved with the club have all said how bad things are regarding support from the people upstairs (bar Rich Mann).

What i have heard about Paul larke is that a manager who guided a Bowers Res team to a poor league finish in a very average league, i dont think he has the resources and player knowledge to bring in the kind of players that can help Basildon eventually move on, iam sure he thinks different but i think the general opionion of this manager is nothing move than a man who has a collection of average players from the basildon/bowers area that will follow him around! with the help of some advertisment in local papers he may of attracted a few players but iam afaird he has failed before he has even got going!

Really? I remember playing over there against Bas Utd and all he did during the game was shout at Healsey and call him a big-time pr1ck! Came across as a complete numpty tbh.

 

Honestly, I don't see why Rich doesnt take a leaf out of Paul Dipre's (Carshalton Athletic) book. Just pick the team as well as run the show. Probably can't do a worse job than some of the clowns they've had over there in the past few seasons.

Feel sorry for Rich because he is a proper foiotball man but until someone takes over Basildon with some money and ambition the club will be going no where.

Rich is being pretty quite about this...I hope it hasn't hit him too hard. As you say, he puts alot of effort into Basildon and defends them relentlessly on here even when its in jest..!!

With regards to his behaviour towards other teams then he come across as a complete numpty on the scale of football terms he managed to collect a half acceptable team together who where top 5/6 in the ESL and managed to steady the ship as such (for a short time), although a long season in that league with no help from upstairs i imagine players/staff got annoyed. I believe Basildon united is a no go area for any manager looking to keep his reputation in tact!
