Betting Odds

Bet Fred in Birchington wouldn't give me a price on Margate winning the Ryman Prem League.

Corals Birchington after a legthy phone call offered me 20/1. I told them this was far too low.....i would expect circa 50/1.

Am i wrong is this a good price, or do i hold out for better odds??

How much money would you put on? Never placed a real bet before so no idea :-)

I normally put on £10 to win..I don't nancy about with an each way bet!!!!!!

Had a look on a few sites, some of the less known ones, odds checking ones and cant see anything yet - will probably come out when the fixtures do

 

When the bookies see some of our signings i hope for us to be 5/1 favourites

went into Corals in Margate High Street and asked the young man behind the counter if he could give me odds on Margate winning the league...he looked pityingly at me and consulted his computer. Then he phoned his boss, who said not giving odds yet maybe later. He said to give it a couple of weeks and pop back

" it will probably be something like 50/1 like it was last year" he said in a soothing tone - practically suggesting that my carer would be along to collect me soon...

Have spoken to the major bookmakers & with most the word is that the odds for our league will be released early August.I'm not saying they won't be earlier from another or any of these bookies but thats the reply I got from the major companies.

 

Maybe contacting them about this might have them display the odds earlier,who knows.

I notice this morning on web site odds checker they have margate down at 50/1 result if so. Can you confirm it is for current season and not last!!!!

Its this years as Tonbridge and Sutton are not listed..

 

Looks Like CORAL are the only ones wth odds at the moment..

 

So everyone get down there on that 50/1 today! Becasue that'll change soon if they realise pre season scores and signings, etc!

Your'e right Mark. Looks like Corals are in first. I think they are very generous odds indeed.

 

Though I don't think we'll actually win the league we will certainlty fair much better this season than last, I'm sure of it & each way 1/4 odds a place at 50s might well be worth a punt because 2nd or 3rd could well be within our reach.

 

All I can say is that the other teams must be really really good for us to be quoted at 50s. 14/1-16/1 would be my odds for us at this early stage but then I'm a punter & not a bookie & they know more than me, however, I still think they are being over generous with our odds despite having said that.

Thank you Ian. Yes I see that. Someone's lumped on then. Either that or Corals must have seen their error, & no I didnt get on. As you know I'm not a betting man. :cheesy (2):
