Windsor FC

Well all three have dropped down a level, which means that Windsor may have a bit of money to throw around. There proposed 3G pitches and gym (designed to make the club self-sufficient) haven't been completed yet,

There manager Keith Scott was sacked last year for overspending their budget and triggering the whole mess. They have several former players including Rob Bullivant, Ryan Parsons, Joe Chandrinham, and now Ben Porter and Dave Tilbury. Scott has openly admitted to wanting to bring in more former players (http://www.windsorobserver.co.uk/sport/windsorfc/articles/2011/07/01/52815-scott-intends-to-sign-unique-royalists/).

It has the same old faces running the club (namely Kevin Stott and Barry Davies).

I wish people would stop refering to it as a completely new club. This is not my idea of a completely new club (and it seems as though the members of the board who resigned the other week agree with me on that).

So I guess they are only signing up because they want to win things then? It looks a bit suspicious that a club with little income can afford to pay these guys, all of whom would be expecting some wages at least.

I thought there would be some path upwards but not as meteoric as it looks like it's going to be. No wonder some supporters are unhappy, because it looks like another slippery path to ruin.

Should be a good contest next week. We could arguably be looking at the best team outside of the Southern League if Keith Scott keeps signing up "his" players.

Who says that we have money to thrown around. As it was confirmed on Saturday, these players are coming to play football and not to pick up over inflated wage packets. And where did it ever say that the 3G pitch and gym would be completed before the start of the season.

No, he was sacked for alleged overspending which, once looked into, was discovered to have been a false accusation which 99% of supporters accept. Why wouldn't Scott want to bring the old players back if hey have brought him success and are within the budget.

It is not the same old faces running the club. Before the start of Windsor FC Kevin Stott hadn't been at Stag Meadow for almost 2 years, and since when did a club president ever have anything to do with running a club.

Well Nathan, think of this club as you will but we are a new club.

10 reasons we are a new club:

1. We have beer stocked in the clubhouse;

2. We have bar snacks behind the bar;

3. Admission prices have been reduced by 25%;

4. We have a new dart board in the clubhouse;

5. We have milk in the clubhouse fridge;

6. Michael Chennells is no longer at the club;

7. We have proper food to be served in the tea bar;

8. The darts team haven't won a game under the name Windsor FC;

9. Sandal Sid hasn't been seen;

10. We are called Windsor FC.

Can we move on now and enjoy Saturday?!

No.7 Geggy, we no longer have a tea bar, haven't you seen the new signs yet?

You will now be dining at Scottys' food and drink emporium. :welcome: And I don't think Sue will take to kindly to the comment about proper food either :angry:

And I saw Sid last week on his bike, cycling from Old Windsor.

The simple fact is though that both the FA and Berks & Bucks CFA say we're a new club and could only register with them on that basis. We were not allowed into the FA Cup this year because NEW clubs applying have to play one season in the FA Vase before being considered for entry into the FA Cup.
