OK guys I have listened, waited and taken all of the comments, positve and negative (both from the looney Smudge) and now is time to stop messing around

 

 

We are coming for you, you should be scared, we bring to you unknown talent, but an awful lot of talent. I believe we are already a Ryman league side (I have been sitting back waiting and watching your comments (Sorry Guernsey Donkey for the misled negativity I am with you, I had just listened to the posters but I have been lying)

 

I know I will receive the 'whatever' comments again but I am telling you all that we are a couple of leagues above you. Our administration and orgainsation is miles above this league and we may be the new boys but this league will be like a national side playing in the Sunday league. You will all have a great trip to Guernsey, no matter how bad you are (I personally played at a much higher level than CCL Div 1) but you will be beaten, some horrifically, mark my words. Enjoy playing in front of big crowds, the crowd in Guernsey is miles above what you stand any chance of playing in front of at this level, but you will be made very welcome.

 

Let me make this clear, we are a good side and we should walk this league

 

Anything less this year will be deemed a failure, if there is anyone out there who still likes us, tough, we have tried to be nice to everybody and for some that hasn't been enough, bring your teams and try, we are coming to somewhere near you very soon en mass!

Total disrespect shown here by you Guru. I wish now I was still managing this season.

Guernsey Guru I will say to you exactly what I said to the "Mouth" that was Hayes gate last year...It’s the winter months and the midweek games against the teams who have poor pitches will determine where you finish. Just for the record Hayes Gate folded after 1 season in this division.

You will make Guernsey FC the team everyone will want to beat...you probably have done already with your comments and believe me Guru there are teams in this division who will make it hard work for you. You have to go to some horrible away grounds and thats where it counts.

My feelings are that Guernsey dont want to be the team every one wants to beat or they will find thenselves forking out over 100k again next season in Division 1. Your comments are totally disrepsectful on many of your recent posts Guru. Mark my words Guru this division isnt as easy as you believe. Some clubs in this division will probably accomodate you and be nicey nicey as its "Guernsey" they are the clubs who you will beat home and away, the others will make your away day a nightmare.

QUESTION FOR THE GUERNSEY POSTERS.................

Is there still raging rampant rivalry between Guernsey and Jersey like there was in the olden days ??

 

I know this all originally stemmed way back in history, both in the Islands differing allegience to the Crown, AND, what occured on each Island during the German occupation during WWII !

 

Answers, on a tin-hat, to.........

 

Yes, we still hate them.

 

It's all friendly banter though when we play them except last year a few of the younger supporters got into a bit of a scuffle on the pitch after the game with the Jersey chavs.....meant we all had to have a police escort from the Ground to the harbour........the older generation used their brains and ducked out of the side of the cavalcade and into the nearest pub where we were drinking with a few of the Jersey fans.

 

And Guernsey Guru, i can't help but think you are setting yourself up for an almighty fall with some of your posts.

 

I'm taking the humble approach and although i hope we do well, I think a lot of the away trips are going to be scrappy affairs and I wouldn't be surpised if we come out of more than 50% of them with less than the 3 points on offer. We need to make sure our home record sees us through the season.

Have the Guernsey women got Nicknames,see you got a Top 5 chip shop Cobo's.Could you give us a run down on best pubs,eateries,and the night life.And is there anywhere safe where I could pitch my tent.Or maybe I could stay at yours.

 

Theres a great fish and chip shop in the town centre called The Chip Inn. Thats as good as Cobo I reckon.

 

In town ( St Peter Port ) my fav restaurant is Da Nellos but it is prob £60 a head without booze.

 

For a cheaper meal Valentinos on the seafront in town does amazing pizzas and Maexican food plus other stuff.

 

The women don't have nicknames lol !

 

The best pubs in town are the ship and crown, the white hart, the albion, the de la rue and the randy paddle.

 

If you want posher pubs we have those as well but I prefer real pubs not wine bars.

I'm seriously thinking about swerving whichever away game Ashford have on the day Lammas are at home to Guernsey so I can check out this "Ryman" side... and find out what the Islanders make of the Robert Parker Stadium!

 

The Guru could be in for a bit of a shock methinks... Don't get me wrong, you'd expect a representative team (even one drawn from a relatively small population) to do well against ordinary clubs, simply because as a rep team, they are already cherry picked from clubs. We already know they have 30-35 players to call on every week, whereas most CCL1 sides will not have that luxury.

 

It will be interesting, no doubt about that! Lammas looked fairly useful yesterday and they will only be one of many challengers.

A great entertaining match that no one deserved to lose. Our boys did us proud against a team many leagues above us.
