ESL Fixtures

Recommended Posts

I see the fixtures for the Ryman North are announced on wednesday 13th, therefore I would expect our (ESL) fixtures to ne announced by the End of July.

Does anyone know whether the league actually starts on 6th, 13th or after the FA Cup matches

  • 2 weeks later...

League wish for clubs to have played at least 4 competitive games before the first FA cup games on 20th Aug. So with that in mind the league programme will start Saturday 6th Aug. With the last game played on 28th April 2012.

As for when the fixtures are released I don't have any idea but I would guess the end of next week (29th)

Just ideally get the possible Haringey, Sawbo, Stansted midweek games out the way before it gets too cold and the pitches get mingin

Anyone heard from their club secretary's when the fixtures may come out, it's nearly August and as stated by a few of you on here, the season supposedly starts Saturday week.

Mr Pugh our Sec. said on Saturday when I asked him that he expects the fixtures to be released on Sunday. Although that isn't a definite

To be fair I have to agree with Shaun when he said it's a tough job to get these sorted bearing in mind the number of teams that now ground share.

Agreed, however is it not only Barkingside who share with Redbridge. Ryman fixtures were announced two weeks ago, doesn't allow clubs much notice if the season starts on 6th.

Thankless task but one that needs sorting sooner rather than later.

Keith, did he mean Sunday just gone or this comong Sunday?

Cheers

JJ, he meant this Sunday

If I remember rightly I think last years fixtures were announced a week before the start date.

Eton Manor now share with Waltham Abbey, plus BGU & Sporting Bengal and Clapton & APSA are groundsharing. PLus add in the new ESL Reserve league and I think we start to get the scale of the job in hand.

Mr Fixture Sec. - please can we not have Barking early doors as we have them in the FA Cup !!!!

Of course, I didn't consider the internal groundshares.

Thanks Mate

not having a pop gents but i think you will find that 99% of Leagues have external and internal groundshares, the worst hit are of course Sunday Leagues, the fixture secretary for the Basildon and District Sunday League will have to consider the fixtures of teams from The Chelmsford and District Sunday League,Eastern Junior Alliance,Southend Sunday League,Sceptre Sunday League,Southend Borough Combination Veterans League and probably a few others!!!

Theres not many Leagues without groundshares and very few pitches where you have less than 4/5 teams on them all from different leagues.

i guess the real problem is the external groundshares which then have a knock on effect on internal groundshares, for example

week 1: Barkingside v London apsa

Clapton v Sporting Benegal

Bethnal Green v Bowers

Ryman fixtures announced Redbridge at home week one ok switch the Barkingside v London apsa match, oops you cant do that because clapton are at home !!ok switch the sporting benegal match as well no you cant do that as bethnal green are at home.
