Phone Hacking 'Scandal'

Recommended Posts

Horace - It's very much lets get ready to rumble isn't it with MP's quizzing Rupert Murdoch, James Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks this afternoon as well as Sir Paul Stephenson and and his former Assistant John Yates. I envisage it, however, being a tame grilling by 'an unheard of' cross-party Culture, Media and Sport Committee, namely John Whittingdale (Chair, Conservative), Therese Coffey (Conservative), Damian Collins (Conservative), Philip Davies (Conservative), Paul Farrelly (Labour), Alan Keen (Labour Co-operative), Louise Mensch (Conservative), Adrian Sanders (Lib Dem), Jim Sheridan (Labour) and Tom Watson (Labour). I can see their questions being handled in a similar vein

as Tony Blair at the Iraq enquiry where Blair batted them away Ian Botham style at Headingly in 1981.

I felt so sorry for poor Rupert Murdoch yesterday afternoon, no human being should be put through an ordeal like that

I think Ian Blair would have handled the situation much better, and far more professionally, than Paul Stephenson

Murdoch probably sees this as a good opportunity to cut some costs and it will be business as usual next week with the Sun on Sunday.

Took a few months longer but another no brainer prediction:-

While of course the "it'll all blow over in a few days fannies" will have been hoping this thread remained buried:-

Big JR - Don't worry it's just a storm in a tea cup and will all blow over as quickly as it started

Got this one badly wrong didn't you Cliff. Rebecca Brooks and husband now arrested as instructed by the CPS along with 42 others on charges of phone and computer hacking plus corruption arising out of three separate investigations.

Any fresh predictions with the benefit of hindsight Cliffy?

............. and just for the record, ANY proved conspiracy charge CAN carry a life sentenece, which means the Judge can pick and choose what he gives.

I can see a certain re-headed lady enjoying all the lesbian attention that Holloway can provide in the near future.

Serves her right.

I wonder if the horse-racing world will kick her hubby out as well ? Shame he's a personal mate of 'Call Me Dave'.

How to win friends and influence people - NOT !

How many heads will roll at Scotland Yard,NONE my guess.Maybe if they had done their job correctly 2 years ago, rather than turning a BLIND EYE.But as we all know, one rule for the haves, another for the have not's.It's a rich mans world.

Quite so, Smudge, but I think you'll find that the writing is on the wall as far as NSY is concerned.

They have been allowed to get away with far too much for far too long, and people are starting to realise that.

Sadly, part of NSY is STILL raciist to this day. A certain Ali whatisname didn't help materes, either.

Hoiwever - I digress !

I was disgusted at the way poor Rupert Murdoch was treated at the Leveson inquiry, he’s an old man afterall and if he had collapsed with a heart attack, or indeed has one in the next week or so through stress, Lord ‘Justice’ Leveson, amongst many others, will have blood on their hands!

So Murdoch or his minions heap misery on perhaps thousands of lives, it then becomes necessary to question him about these illegal practices, and if the old fool has a heart attack its all someone else's fault. I really don't understand the logic of this.

Missunderstood, Rhodesy is perverse - there never is understanding a perverts logic. I note in the list of Phone Hacking victims that Lady Pamela Hicks is 83 - 2 years older than T osser Murdoch but somehow I don't remember Rhodesy's concern for her.
