I know its a way of helping the club financially and blah blah blah..but £10 and £8 for a pre season friendly..your having a laugh right?!?!

Its costing me £10 to see West Ham v Real Zaragoza in a pre season friendly.

Margate will be experimenting with players, playing trialists, youngsters.

Sorry I think those prices are a bit wrong and a bit p*ss taking

Interested to know what other Ryman clubs are charging for their psfs. £5 with £3 concessions to cover costs fair enough but we do not have any high profile i.e league or even conference premier clubs in opposition. Hard to justify any more than that TBH.

We have tried to differentiate between the matches and yes it is a way to generate some income in a period that sees little revenue generated. If we could get 20-30,000 through the gate then we'd also have a different pricing policy!

While appreciating that people can always vote with their feet, hopefully we'll see as many of you as possible as the new season gets under way.

I'll give all the friendlies except the Canterbury one a miss I think. Anything more than a fiver is too much for games against non-league sides. Think the club would have got a lot more people through the gates at £5 each. Good chance the Canterbury match will have the highest gate and Welling the lowest.

In a potentially vain attempt to explain the admission pricing, just 1 match - the one against a higher ranked side - is at normal admission prices. The 2 against clubs one division below is is 20% off normal prices and the one against a Kent league club is 50% off.

I just thought I'd share a couple more things that have been dialled into the mix for setting admission prices. Supporters may recall we significantly reduced the admission prices for a league game last season with absolutely no impact on the attendance. We believe that the pricing structure set for our PSFs is reasonable - for a number of reasons - but do accept that as always, some people may not agree with them. As stated previously, the games have been split price-wise to recognise the relative ranking of the opposiion.

agree with other posts, last season if I remember correctly it was £5 for all adult entry, that to me is enough, and these prices are too expensive and will effect the attendance, I certainly will not be attending all home friendlies and will explore the prices for the away games.

To put into perspective, Aldershot have 4 home pre season friendlies. Stoke City (Premiership) , Inverness Caledonian Thisle (Scottish Premier), Charlton and Brentford. Tickets are £10.00 each or all four games for £35.00.

AS wellsie suggests-everyone will have a different opinion on this.

Personally, i think club have got it right-and minimally-an effort has been made to put it on a sliding scale.

That given-because of distance-i'm unlikely to attend more than one psf-so i guess easy/ arguably hypocritical for me to say.

However-why not step back a bit -and ask the question of yourselves-why am i going to watch the psf ?

If its to see the opposition-maybe some of the 'comments are fair.

is it not the case though- and i reckon most of us go to a psf-to see the 'new margate team-not the opposition.

The new margate team will be similar in all of the games-so on that basis-there was no need for MFC to reduce admission prices at all-so again-imo-the structure seems fair.

Could you argue that admission should be lowest for first game-and highest for last as there are likely to be fewer trialists in the later games;and quality of opposition is completely irrelevant ?

The bigger picture is of course-the 21 league games -(normal rules apply-get drawn away in cup games and lose at first attempt ) where the price is the same for second season on trot-the club could surely have raised prices-but have held them again-and surely need applauding accordingly.

By holding prices-don't forget that following the vat increase in january-the club will make less from admission charges than last year as hmrc takes a bigger share.

do we really therefore begrudge the club making about £100 more from a few psf's ?

Certainly needs that Mr Kinnear to get a winning team to attract more through the turnstiles to compensate

Problem for Saturday is the Open Golf I know many will attend who might have gone to the game, so would have thought £5 entrance might entice a few more to attend the football, I am all for the club generating an extra few quid, just think they have got this a bit wrong, however i remember last year going to Dover for the PSF and they charged £15 to enter which was commented upon on this site.

Echo earlier comments. Seems strange policy and will not entice casual supporters to reignite their interest in the club. £10 to see Welling in a friendly get real. If the club wanted to raise revenue throught the psf's then more attractive opposition should have been the aim.

Friendlies against other non-league teams only attract the hardcore fans anyway so the pricing will make little difference. Might as well squeeze as much as possible out of the saddos like me who will go to some of these games.

With you there but surely it is casual fans we need to attract to get the attendances up to what they used to be. Once again do not think the club are looking at the bigger picture. Get new or missing fans back to club with cheaper psf prices might wet their appitite for the new and hopefully sucessful season ahead.

A home & away match against Ramsgate FC would bring in the cash for both clubs, wonder why this is not happening now
