ALARM BELLS

Wow, you go on holiday and when you come back all hell breaks loose.

For a club that will supposedly rely on its community for support, Keith Scott's appointment is really poor.

What sort of message does this send out to everyone who was owed money by W and E and lost it? Not to mention the message to potential investors? make no mistake this club is Windsor and Eton FC minus Peter Simpson. It is not surprising they have lost some supporters and committee members who are outraged by this.

The manager's arrogance has been mentioned on here a number of times, so why would someone as arrogant as Keith Scott want to work in the Combined counties league? Simples.... No takers. no one else wanted him after a year of touting himself around to all and sundry(ask any chairman who has had a vacancy and most who havent). Nothing. Only Kevin Stott would touch him.

Someone mentioned on here that the Budget may be £800 per week?......Maybe or that may be undercooking it. That would be a budget that many Zamaretto clubs would like, Beaconsfield etc.... As for CCL? no one in this league will be anywhere near that much. Ring any bells? (See season 2009/10 for details!!!!). Some basic maths will tell you if you add up the 5 people signed so far (2 staff, 3 players) this will take up a big proportion of that hypothetical £800 per week. There are still 15 players to find! Will they come for nothing "for the journey". Think not. The cheque book is out again and the alarm bells are ringing.

This appointment leaves a very sour taste and it feels like the "interview process" was a charade over a done deal all along. It would be good to be more positive at this new dawn but it doesnt feel or look right.

All this means that If I were a potential investor, I wouldnt invest now. I wonder how many other local businesses feel the same?

Great post, but at non league level no-one invests in a football club, they just give them money, and when the money runs out all and sundry slag them off, and supporters still never understand why other money men no longer want to put money in their club.

IMO if clubs choose to go into liquidation, and then quickly reform as a so called new club, then the FA should heavily audit them to make sure no players or staff are paid until all the old clubs previous debts have been repaid in full.
