FA Cup Draw Postponed for a week

The release of the Football Conference fixtures has been delayed, as have the draws for the preliminary rounds of the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

 

The deferral is because of Rushden & Diamonds' appeal to the Football Association against their expulsion from the Conference.

 

Diamonds are set to attend a hearing at Wembley on Tuesday.

 

Blue Square Bet Premier, North and South fixtures will now be released Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

 

The unveiling of FA Cup and FA Trophy matches has been put back a week, from Friday 1 July to Friday 8 July.

 

Rushden, who are also facing a winding-up petition, were omitted from the Football Conference for financial reasons at the competition's annual general meeting on 11 June.

 

The decision saw relegated Southport earn a reprieve to stay in the Blue Square Bet Premier, while Thurrock remained in the Blue Square Bet South and Bishop's Stortford were moved to Blue Square Bet North.

They have pulled out of the appeal and the Conference fixtures will be done 2morro as planned......Don't know about the FA cup though.

It's just been announced that Rushden have withdrawn their appeal.

That should mean the Conference fixtures are released tomorrow.

The FA draws have been planned for 8th July for some time. They were on the 8th last year as well although they're usually on the first Monday in July.
