Fans Forum XI - Future Matches

Recommended Posts

Dear All, your thoughts on the following please:

After two successful charity matches so far I think the way forward for our games would be to invite clubs to play us. The club can then supply the venue and we play against a team that they put out. We then get the chance to play against various CCL clubs and keep the whole structure CCL based.

We have already had offers from Bedfont Sports and Eversley to use their facilities, so for future reference we can play against their teams if they agree. We will base it on a first come first serve basis so our next two fixtures could be:

Winter Charity Cup - Bedfont Sports v Fans Forum XI

Summer Charity Cup - Eversley v Fans Forum XI

The trophies will remain at the clubs involved.

It does take a bit of effort to get these games arranged so by involving clubs I am sure they will be willing to aid with the arrangements. Especially pitch arrangements.

I have a chosen charity that I fully support, c-r-y.org . I am sure you will agree that this charity involves everyone in sport especially football. Hopefully FIFA will enforce compulsory screening in the UK as they do in other countries for young footballers.

As mentioned on another thread we may be able to get a mascot, possibly Weebles Duck. We have three willing members happy to manage the side and a pool of players to choose from. I am sure we can always borrow a kit but it is also possible to get our own kit for future games, therefore we will need a badge designed.

If you have any other ideas that would benifit the future of our charity games then please post them and we will consider and debate every point.

If your club would like to join the list of fixtures please either post on here or PM me. If we need to squeeze more fixtures in then it may be possible dependent on members views.

Cheers guys.

Good work and idea YV.

Playing for charity, I am sure Fans Forum XI will get companies interested to sponsor their own kit ?

I think from memory, YWH helped with the Cobham website (I stand corrected) but with help of others, whilst I appreciate it is time consuming, why not consider having a Fans Forum XI website to highlight the squad, management etc., the same as a normal CCL club maybe on Pitchero, and then to have Companies sponsor the websitre by way of advertising and link their Company to the Fans Focus XI charity site.

If we advertise wanted fixtures on the FFXI site, I am sure there will be many offers

In addition, this would give good exposure to each sponsor and for FFXI to gain much needed funds for their nominated charity/charities.

Just an idea......

One step ahead again NG. Done this one after the first game however not had enough time to update it FFXI. I am happy for people to get involved and take on roles to help with different things. The website administrator job is open if anyone is interested.

I am sure there will be companies etc interested as you say but still needs promoting. There are many things that can be done and many hands make light work ;)

Happy to help out again YV as you know. I can do the website administration if needed.

Following my visit on Saturday I agree that Bedfont Sports would be a great venue for the next game.

All yours Leigh. I will pm you the login details.

Any ideas for content can be forwarded to you.

Cheers buddy.

Neal Collard at Farleigh gets a great price on Pro Star kits, so when we want to order he could well be the man, I will sort out with him when the time comes if you wish. What should our colours be? You want colours that don't clash much. I suggest a yellow or gold based strip, any other idea's ?

How about White with navy shorts and White socks?

Bare in mind all other teams will have more than one kit.
