With the first 4 Teams having been selected to visit the Island, I would be interested in your views,as to how this trip should be planned.Would you fly out Friday night and return Saturday Night after the game.Or as most Players would prefer I am sure, fly out Saturday Morning, return Sunday Afternoon.

You can fly out Friday evening if you want but, unless the kick off time is brought forward, you won't be flying back on Saturday evening as the last flight to Gatwick leaves the island at 6.15 / 6.30 depending on airline. It is just about doable I suppose but it'll mean a quick change and straight back to the airport. There is a later flight to Southampton but I don't know the details of what Guernsey FC will pay for. If they'll pay for tickets to and from Southampton that's an option some clubs may want to consider.

If we get to play them I might go for the old ferry myself as it's a fair bit cheaper and I like a boat ride. Depends whether or not I can wangle myself onto the guest list but somehow I doubt I will.

If you're flying with Aurigny you can use virtually anything for photo ID, even a company ID card if it's a 'nationally recognised company' or local authority.

Sat night out in the town is the way forward

Do you really trust your players if you flew out Friday night? I certainl wouldnt trust my fellow coaches including myself!!!

Saying that if near the business end of the season a crunch match takes place out there i can see some visitors being very proffesional

One thing is for sure we, Knaphill FC, will be flying out on Friday evening, either 6pm or 7.30pm flight. We would fly back from Guernsey at 6pm Saturday as we are scheduled to kick off at 1pm if you fly in on Friday night. If you fly in on Saturday morning you are scheduled to kick off at 3pm. However, our chairman is looking into the cost of a further night in Guernsey at the club's cost and to fly back Sunday evening but with this though is a late flight arrival back at Gatwick at either 10.20pm or 11.20pm not ideal if you have to get up for work early on Monday.

Despite some peoples thoughts on not trusting the players to go out on the lash, we have our own rules on that which we will obviously keep in house, after all we are going out there to win a game of football and not on a jolly, that can be done if we stay an extra night!

It will be interesting to see what other clubs do!

I shall try again ... I agree I'm sure we have all found ourselves in a strange room, house or street on a Sunday morning not having a clue where you are and only a mobile phone and a quick call to a team mate to get you to your Sunday morning game.. not as easy stuck out there

Have teams not done similar journeys before like this??? By this I mean, have any other channel island teams played in an English league before or an isle of man side played in the leagues?? If so then maybe an idea to find out how those clubs went about it.The only comparison I can think of though is the likes of Mallorca & Tenerife in the Spanish league and I think there is a Swedish side who play on an island in the middle of the Baltic sea.

Are there any Scottish teams who play outside the top 4 divisions who play on a remote island ??
