FA Vase 2011/2012

Recommended Posts

Think you'll find no one is moping about it at Ampthill, seems to bug you tho Rhodes?

Ref Off Ref – I’m only trying to be helpful that’s all, I believe all Club’s who suffered postponements to their Fifth Round ties last Saturday were asked whether they wanted to play tomorrow and Oadby Town were surprisingly more than happy to play on Wednesday evening

So where are you being helpful then Rhodes, where exactly?

Ref Off Ref - Were you aware that Staveley Miners Welfare were playing your conquerors, Oadby Town, on Wednesday night then as it wasn't advertised in last Sunday's Non League paper

Ref Off Ref - Did you read the match report in today's Non League paper, if not here it is:

FA Vase Fifth Round

Staveley Miners Welfare 2 Oadby Town 0

Delighted Staveley Miners Welfare boss Billy Fox heaped praise on wonder winger Joe Thornton after his two goals sent the Northern Counties Eastern Premier side through to the Quarter Finals of the FA Vase with victory over Oadby Town. Thornton was a constant menace throughout and put the seal on the tie with a goal in each half to hand Welfare a last eight clash against St Ives Town, Fox singled out Thornton after the game following his impressive brace, ‘Joe is usually a hot and cold type player but when he’s good he’s a fantastic footballer. He scored two great goals which gives him 16 for the season, he’s been excellent for us’. The first goal came three minutes before the break from a well placed strike following an earlier penalty miss from Ryan Damms and he topped that off with a delicate chip into an empty net after an error from visiting goalkeeper Elliott Shillian just after the hour mark. ‘I felt that we deserved to win the game’ added Fox, ‘we missed a penalty, hit the crossbar and had numerous other chances, we tried to get it down and pass it but it was difficult as the ball was in the air a lot, it wasn’t one for the purist but at this stage it’s just about winning’.

I'm crying buckets into my tea now Rhodes at would could have been.....how will the pain ever heal?

Oh yes, I might be right in saying the boys reached a The Beds Senior Trophy Final after their victory on Saturday Rhodes, bet Bernie, Eric CB and all involved at the club are distraught at the horrendous season we are having to date, plus a few grand in the kitty too, yes Rhodes we are all inconsolable.

Anyway good news for you, apparently jealousy is curable, in time

Ref Off Ref - Be honest, where would you have rather played on Saturday, assuming that, unlike Oadby Town, you would have played on Saturday and not Wednesday, Staveley Miners Welfare at a stadium in front of 340 baying fans or Caldecote

assuming that

There you are again, doing that thing you do. You really are a long tall drink of diarrhoea aren't you Rhodesy?

Loosely – What are you talking about, if you bothered to take notice Ref Off Ref said on here that Ampthill Town wouldn’t have wanted to go to Staveley Miners Welfare on a Wednesday night and understandably so

You don't know what a long tall drink of diarrhoea is? Do you have a mirror at work?

You must be a few sarnies short of a picnic. There is no SSML relevance in your post is there? You haven't had a bite on this no matter how hard you've tried just terrible terrible banter and that's being kind

No Rhodes has a point, give him his due and try and be understanding that jealousy is a disease, but in time can be cured, hopefully though in our case not for a very long time if we keep winning.

Now what was the question, oh yes going to Staveley Miners in a competition that we know we weren't gonna win or a Cup Semi Final that we did win?

Truth is Rhodes I'd rather have gone shopping with the Missus, seeing the joy on everyone's faces after we'd reached a Cup Final, gets on my tits, not a nice sight....oh sorry you wouldn't know what it's like would you Rhodent as not only do you not go football anymore but the last team you were involved in died on its feet.

Hope that helps Cliff.....oh and don't despair me old china, many people out there are sad, lonely, jealous, clubless and clueless who's only joy in life is hanging around public toilets, think you might though be the only one to be diagnosed as suffering from all of them at once though.
