Rhodes
BigBoss - For a number of reasons, Haringey and Waltham Development won't relish the long trip into the unknown to leafy Crawley Road and I think Cranfield United will be lying in wait for them. The old Mauritius Sports Association were always a bit of a 'ragbag' outfit and I'm sure Haringey and Waltham Development will be no different, if not worse, now they're 'slumming it' at Coles Park compared to palatial Wadham Lodge. uv1
I see that Dunstable Town and Leverstock Green Exempt to second round proper. Tring and Royston to first round proper. Wonder why that is.
thecoldend
Tring Athletic and Royston Town are exempt until first round proper as they finished in top 4 of the league (2nd and 3rd respectively)....obviously Chalfont St Peter don't qualify as they'll be in the Trophy next season.. Levvy Green would of gone into the first round as they finished 4th but as they and Dunstable Town got to the fifth round proper last season they get a bye to the 2nd Round this season. Simple!! But then first division Kings Langley (knocked out in the 1st QR last season by Basildon United) and Amersham Town (weren't in the Vase last season) enter at the 2nd QR stage as opposed to many Premier Division sides in the 1st QR. I think that is just a case of the luck of the draw???
Rhodes
I see that Staveley Miners Welfare comfortably beat Oadby Town 2-0 last night in the delayed Fifth Round tie, I wonder if Ampthill Town would have fared any better against them had they beaten Oadby: http://forum.staveleyfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=618&sid=a15a14be1033881786f1be982b8b656d
ref off ref
Of course Rhodes, a long trip in a Thursday evening would have been ideal. Difference is financially we made out of the competition this season, think you'll find Oadby, who pay two players £650 and £600 per week were quoted as having to reach the last 8 just to break even. Think you'll find no one is moping about it at Ampthill, seems to bug you tho Rhodes?
