What player would you pick?

If you could sign any other player from another team in your division who would you choose????

Mine would be the Worcester Park number 10. I think he's there captain.

Jack bull or ball from Knaphill.....

This thread is a good advertisment for players knowing which manager/s would like to sign them............. so Jack here's your chance to go to Hampton & Richmond reserves I would have thought for now, but with hard work, committment, correct attitude, listen and learn there's a chance to get into the first team squad eventually.

Players, especially the young ones, should always look to have ambition, and not be happy with just playing with their mates......... !

This just goes to show how little you know about management of players,a player can be destroyed by moving to quickly and to a club above there ability, just because they they listen to someone like you,a lot of theese so called gems would be far better off learning there trade and playing senior football at ccl 1 clubs,if a manager has any real worth they will move on players like jack as and when they belive its right for him,and not try to make it all about themselves,as you seem to do with every thread on this forum.

How right you are Ace,Jack is a talented if not raw talent and is definitely one who needs to get loads of games under his belt,I couldn't believe it when I saw him playing in the middle of the back four and how well he plays there,When he played for Cove youth team he always played up top but fair play to you Ace you spotted where his best position is lets just hope he fulfills his potential, give him time and no doubt he will come good.

I'm not sure if I agree Ace, I think you should go to a club in a higher division if you feel you are good enough, if a players try's and does well then it's the right move if he fails then may be he was not good enough yet, I would always encourage somebody to play at the highest level possible at what ever age they are, I played for Staines Town first team when I was 17 and loved it, plus I learnt so much very quickly. I'm not saying your wrong Ace I just think it depends on the players Character.

Thanks Ellers it saves me saying it all.........

Ace do you have any connection with Knaphill......ha ha ?

You've got your opinion for what its worth. Why do lads go to pro clubs just for the fun of it. But hey lets not go to a pro club or a club in a higher division, and play with his mates in the CCL and not progress. How the hell is a player to know his level if he doesn't try ? That's where good managers cioaches and scouts come into play. Trust me Ace and Duncs, you learn alot more at a club in a higher division 'cos usually their coaches are better (with respect to all coaches in the CCL) they learn quicker, become technically better and become more disciplined ('cos they have to be). So Ace if Jack wanted to go to Hampton and learn at a higher level you would stop him..... poor lad ? With better players around Jack, he would learn alot quicker than in the CCL believe me to progress. Correct me if I am wrong young Jack is 17-18 years old....... but hey you know Ace you're right of course so the topic ends here............

im caught in two minds here, agree with both ellers and ace, When i was a Staines as a 16 year old, Staines were in the ryman and i spent most of the season as an un-used sub, cordery thought this would be good experience for me. At the time i agreed but looking back now, i think it was the worst thing for me and actually i think it knocked my confidence.I can only count on 1 hand the times i came on in about 25-30 games even when we were 3,4 nil up i still werent given a chance,i felt like i was only there to make the numbers up. It wasnt until i went to Ashford Town that i gained really good experience, Mick Snowden brought me into the reserves and into the surburban league, where i played against the likes of Basingstoke, eastleigh, Afc Wimbledon and on some days these teams would have players from the 1sts playing. Gradually i was learning more and Mark butler brought me into the 1sts and used me well as a sub and after i had a few apperances as a sub he gave me a few starts. Was tough at the time as i was competing with Ricky Wellard (AFC Wimbledon) and Paul Johnson (Hampton i believe now) but when they were out i was given a chance. so on reply to Jack Ball i think a few more seasons at Knaphill will do him the world of good or evn look at some where like Hampton reserves and go play in the surburban league because he will learn a hell of a lot like i did.

Animal, Did I not mention Hapmton & Richmond Reserves ?

To a certain extent you should aired your views with Cordery and told him how you felt and get an answer to your question, why you was always sub and not playing for the reserves/Academy, or was you ? What Division were Ashford in at the time you loined them ?

As a 16 yr old i was probably abit shy or even scared to even talk to Cordery, i was just so happy i was invovled at high level playing with some good players. I dont no why i was a sub, like i said i felt like i was there to just make the numbers up so Staines wouldnt get a fine for not fielding a full bench. Basically when i was scouted for the Academy, i had just left school but had just got a job and the academy offers you and place at kingston college for 2-3 years and you also train 3 times a week at Cobham. As i already had a job i couldnt do these things so the Academy asked Cordery/Maskell if i could do my training with them on a tuesday and thursday night and still played academy games on week nights, having trained with them for a month i must of impressed Steve and was asked to sign for them on ryman forms. I went all over the place with them, sitting on the bench in the cold weather and was never really given a chance, even when we played the likes of Brentford, yeovil and reading in friendlies i was only give 10-15 minutes, not enough time to impress. So thats why i left. Ashford were in the ryman div 1 when i joined and then got promoted the following season to the premier. I spent a year in the surburban before i got called up the 1sts. i was then about 17-18 and had alot more experience.

When he is ready there will be a few clubs looking at him ... But I know the people at Knaphill will look after him in the right way and progress him to the best standard of football that he can play...

As ace is the manager at Knaphill I can see Jack is in good hands and will be well looked after.

Aha, I thought so, thats why ACE didn't want Jack to leave Knaphill and move onto Hampton (or wherever) a higher standard........it all makes sense now, or does it ?

Unfortunantly I don't know jack so can't really comment.

Back on topic tho, I'm not a manager but if I was

From div 1 I'd like to have Matt Baker of Knaphill, strong quick and will consistently get u 20+ goals a season.

From prem I'd have beji beji of Epsom or Lawrie Shennan of Hanworth both are just quality!

I would pick shiftyonfire as he is an absolute quality goalkeeper. It's a shame that he is moving to new Zealand but let's hope his trials go well.

Absolutely. Could definitely do a job higher up but good luck to him.
