Come on Guernsey!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Oh. So you were using a gadget to beam us live updates! I didn't know you were the sort.

I started having a little look on Twitter near the end. Quite a few professional and amateur tweeters there.

And I'm old enough to remember the days when you didn't see the results at this level until you bought Sunday's paper.

Or a week later when your Cod and Chips were wrapped in them.

gutted from guernsey - i guess we just have to wait to meet you all now - a nice little rest and then we will be chasing you all midweek, weekend and any other day available

no more mr nice guy - we are used to travel and anyone who wants to write us off due to this minor distraction does so at their own peril - we will be strong and stronger home and away, our season started as soon as our seaon finished - again!! Cant wait to meet you all

Didn't you have to rely on the Mail Coach at the local pub when you were a lad, Smidgey ???

There seems to be a bit of confusion in this thread. The crowd was 1,870 but we were AWAY in the Isle Of Wight.

When Guernsey hosted the island games final at Footes Lane in 2003 we won the final 3-1. The attendance was a then capacity 6,000 see link

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Men%27s_Football_at_the_2003_Island_Games

We did lose the final this year to the Isle of Wight 4-2 but our population is 65,000 and the Isle of Wights is 140,000 !!! ( not sour grapes just some facts ). From what I heard we deserved to win the game but thats football.

We have won the Island games title twice and been runners up twice. For an island with a small population we have some great talent and I can't wait for the season to start.

I would expect a crowd of 2,000 plus for our first home game. It could even be more. I'm sure you will all love the big crowd, warm welcome and atmosphere.

Good luck to all teams, I can't wait to see you all in Guernsey :welcome: :)
