On another note, this is something I want to bring up at next weeks meeting.

We have obviously signed him before today,as the recorder usually gets it's info by Wednesday,Thursday morning at the latest. But we find out the same time as a Romford fan would,by reading the paper.Surely once a player is signed, the news should be put out onto the official website and from there onto the forum.

Margate do this,in the way of wellsie their press officer and it works really well ,ricay and most other clubs do the same.I do appreciate the owners are still finding their feet but it's the one area we have moved backwards in,in a time where communication is moving forwards not back.

The simple matter of fact is that fans like to know things that happen straight away, fans of Hornchurch are no less passionate about their club than fans of the top premier league clubs.

Simon Glover was at Tonbridge and Chelmsford for a while I believe.

Maybe the club don't want to announce the signing just yet until all forms have been signed. We had the same problem when the local paper had announced we had signed Kris Newby when in fact he had only verbally agreed to join us and then later decided to sign for Thurrock.

As statistician for HFC, I have the same problem - I only get to know of a signing when it appears in the Recorder. Simon Glover actually captained Maidstone in the final match of the season at the Bridge, and he is quite well known among the Kent clubs. And yes, both are already included in the Connections section of the Official History of Hornchurch Football Club.

Here is the player profiles of the two players who I believe have signed this season -

Reiss Noel - Right-sided central defender signed on non-contract terms by Woking from Brentwood Town in early December 2010 following an FA Cup tie between the two clubs earlier in the season. Started his career as a youth player at Southend United, and had spells at Potters Bar, St Albans City, Enfield Town, Eastleigh and Aveley before moving to Brentwood in October 2009.

Simon Glover - defender – Maistone Utd, Welling Utd 2001, Dover Athletic 2002, Wycombe Wanderers, Folkestone Invicta, Ashford Town, Tonbridge 2008, Chelmsford City 2009, Maidstone Utd 2010
