A quarter final match away to Stevenage Borough or Harrow Borough is the reward for this win over Hendon in the Doxhill Presidents Cup, but we had to come back from behind twice and scored the winner in the final minutes of extra time with penalties looming.

 

Hendon took the lead after 12 minutes when a low corner was swept in from inside the 6 yard area. Michael Collier had to tip over a shot three minutes later but on 24 minutes we were level. Andrew Martin sent in a high cross from the touchline and Nick Lowery headed home. The lead lasted about 2 minutes as Hendon made it 2-1 with a breakaway goal.

 

Our second equaliser came 8 minutes into the second half after a defender lost control of the ball just outside the area, John Bradley taking advantage and slotting home off the post. Hendon came close to going ahead again when they hit the crossbar with 12 minutes to go but despite both sides working hard to get forward in the remaining minutes both defenses were strong and extra time seemed inevitable.

 

In the second period of extra time Hendon looked the more dangerous but without really worrying keeper Michael Collier. Our winner came with 2 minutes to go, Wasi Damali centred the ball for Andrew Martin just inside the area who neatly flicked it on with his heel for Craig Cripps who had time to pick his spot in the far corner.
