best of luck to Simon and Ben. couldn't doubt either in terms of effort but didn't quite work out for them

very good that Sinclair has decided to stay. further adds to the apparent desire in the squad to get promotion this time round

lets hope Dave stays though you cannot blame him, if its right for him, if he did take a proper managers role

He'd previously stated that although the Harrow job would tempt him and it's close to his heart, he wants to finish the job with Slough and give the fans "what they deserve" - so hopefully things haven't changed since then, it would be a big loss.

After listening to the non-league podcast. Sounds like he may well be appointed at Harrow Borough, not that he gave much away in the interview.

This would be a huge blow to Slough,if it happens.

Great news about Steve Sinclair staying as he is a stunning player and will be key to any promotion chase.

Ben Potter never realy got into the team and with the current compertition I think he has made a wise move.

As for Simon Martin I have been one of his biggest critics. However there were games this last season where he really showed what he can do, but the way we play and the players he has been matched with never allowed him to fully fit in on the pitch and the magical games were few and far between. The strange thing is that I think this forthcoming seasons team may well of suited him better and seen him shine. I wish him well at Hemel and will be intrested to see how he gets on.

What worries me is, if Dave Anderson does go to Harrow, would he attempt to take any of our current crop with him?!?!?! I certainly believe he would attempt to nab Coyne and Burnell... If he did go, I would hope Bateman would offer the Assistant Manager job to Steve Perkins...

I believe that without Burnell, we will struggle to score goals, regardless of how often Nathan Bowden-Haase gets forward or who chips in from the midfield. Sonner, for all his effort and passion, is no target striker and would struggle as a lone forward. The same goes for Ben Abbey (and Burnell for that matter) - all three are simply too similar.

It's very good that we appear to have significantly beefed up the defence, but IMO we still need to sign a forward. We shouldn't rely on Tony Mendy too much as he is still very young, inexperienced and judging from his one appearance last season, still has a lot to learn at this level.

Good to see another update. A shame we didn't get to see Ben and Simon's full potential while they were with us. Hopefully we can get these new additions to the squad which matches the quality we already have and improves the squad for a promotion push.

Good luck to Simon and Ben.

Do you need an Assistant Manager at this level or would we be better placed with a proper first team coach? I'm thinking back to when we had Denton and Mickey Lewis. I'd rather see that than one of the players given a role.

I am also one of Martin's critics and whilst I think we did see his full potential (played over 80 games for us !!!!!) we do not have a target man and we need one quick.

The one we had in mind has gone who is Bird but there has to be another local tall centre forward who can play the target man role.

As for Porter I thought he looked decent but will never get into a side wheere Sincs plays so fair play to want first team opportunity. I actually think Porter would be fantastic at somewhere like Holyport......Sweetman are you reading ??? ;)

It is a shame that Ben porter has left as I think he was a very good player, he never really stood out but almost always had a very solid game and was quite reliable. Im sure he will be able to find a new team and get to start more games and show people what he is capable of and hopefully go up the leagues.

Simon Martin, he had his moments, sometimes they were good and sometimes they were bad. He missed quite a few sitters and one on ones (im sure most people will remember his missed header from 2 yards out against Hitchin) But near the middle to end of last season he proved to be a very useful player and he showed us what he is capable of. He could hold the ball up very well when it was at his feet and only rarely gave it away.

I wish the best to both of them and also hope that we can replace them with players who can play as well as Porter and Martin are capable of, as if we can then they will be very valuable.

Really glad Sincs is staying, who has been excellent for us. For me we certainally missed the Sincs/Sweeney partnership on the right hand side when they were injured at the end of last season.

As others have said good luck to Simon Martin & Ben Porter.

Simon can certainally leave with his head held high in my opinion as he always applauded the fans despite getting what I thought was some unecessary stick at times by a few Slough supporters at the ground. Never really cemented a first-team starting spot apart from at the beginning of the 2009-10 season, which is why he probably decided to move on. But certainally conducted himself well during his time here.

Suprised nothing's been said about Seeby. Were going to miss him and his versitility big time. Lets hope he comes back and plays for us again one day.

Two in (Brown & Bowden-Haase), and so far four out (Bullivant, Martin, Porter, Seeby). Lets hope wel get some good trialists this year as we probably need a couple of new faces in the squad.
