QUIZ NIGHT CANCELLED

Recommended Posts

The Quiz night on the 15th July has been cancelled due to the club needing that date for another function.

Frustrating I know (I have copped it from a couple of people since the news broke) but the club make alot of money from functions and they all go towards paying the clubs debts.

I was going to re arrange for the following week but already,4 of the teams, totalling around 30 people have told me they won't be able to make that day so we will probably leave it until the start of the season now as it's coming up to holiday season and many people are away towards the end of July to start of September but this may change

Money is made, but not as much as from a function.

An ideal situation would be to have two bars. One for supporters,so we wouldn't be thrown out after games and another, purely for functions as I believe every club should have a supporters area.I have said this since we started having more functions. It could be run by the Supporters with the profits going to the club. It's no secret that many fans object to having to leave an hour after a game but it's a delicate situation, the club needs the money. But at the same time are turning fans away, which in turn costs money.

A new bar for supporters would be an ambitious project by the Supporters Association and one that would take time, but run in the right way, could benefit the club massively. But so far it seems a bit too ambitious for most people, plus there's also the fact of where it would go,a corner of the car park, maybe??,somewhere inside,an extension??

Since when have we been having more functions? All for them when we're away, not really when we're at home (I echo quite a few others' sentiments here I see), unless we have an early start...

We should publicise it on the website if there's a function so people know to make other plans for the evening if the club is booked.

Also, should we keep our Sky subscription if the club isn't going to be open for the big games because of functions? We were booked out last year (the bookings were made before we knew we'd have Sky mind you) the days of the Arsenal v Man U and City v West Ham, Man U v Chelsea and, worst of all, Cup Final day.

A supporters' bar is ideal, of course that's another matter entirely though (and not just a money issue) as R has expounded.
