Definitely going to be the most competitive season yet in Div 1 and probably likewise in th prem.

Got to agree that consistency is the key. Not just results wise but also squad wise.

With this in mind my predos for season ahead is:

Prem: Camberley

Div 1: Worcester Park

New to all this, but here we have two sides who always seem to be in the mix come the end of the season and I expect no different.

Thanks Fuzzy, so you are alledgely in agreement that the budget will be sufficient to get promotion, so the figure of @ £1500 should easily suffice to say that Windsor FC are going for it and not just stabilise. Yes AFC took 2 seasons to get out of the CCL and what a good 2 seasons for the rest of the CCL clubs 'cos of the AFC support.

Whilst I appreciate the Windsor support is none of AFC Wimbledon, the club still have a good following (well used to years ago) and I would have thought that those supporters who left the club will return. Fuzzy what was Windsor average home attendance and how many supporters travelled ? The good thing for you guys, the other grounds will be a maximum of 1 hour away (on a good day) so that should enhance your away support in knowing that, altho' whilst alot of the CCL clubs are doing their utmost to improve their ground, some are still left to be desired (no disrespect to CCL clubs) so that may come as a shock, but when you arrive at these grounds, rest assured you will be welcomed and greeted by some really nice people who work tirelessly to bring thie club upto scratch so you guys should not disrespect these clubs when you visit.

Trust me Fuzzy you will meet some really nice CCL supporters along the way, but do not be surprised of the away support of some of the CCL clubs, this your club should bare in mind 'cos there are not that many unfortunately.

Good luck with journeys to Guildford's 'Spectrum' and Croydons ' Arena' ....... !!!

Nice Guy,

not been to the Spectrum yet but have many memories of cold bleak Monday nights at The Arena or Saturday afternoons trying to find some way there that wasn't log-jammed - I wonder if they hold the record for late kick-oFfs? LOL

Fuzzy will not/cannot agree with your £1500 quote as he doesn't know what the figure is but I can assure you you're wrong but would like to know how you came up with a figure such as that to gain promotion. Are you saying that you have inside knowledge of every Premier Division club or are CCL Chairmen that friendly about giving out financial information willy-nilly ? The only reason I ask is that one of the original applicants for the managers' job was/is a CCL manager and promised a top five finish on a budget of travelling expenses alone ! Now if you can get top five for what I would estimate to be considerably less than £500 in travelling costs why waste £1k on top of that because one thing you cannot ensure is that money will bring promotion.

I would guess our Chairman will have a figure in mind to get us 'in the mix' which then may be added to if players are needed for the run-in or may also be cut if we're not there or thereabouts at Christmas-time, but one thing he certainly won't be doing is following the same old route that saw 118 years of history wiped out because of poor financial management !

Our supporters would of course like success in our first season [who wouldn't] but most will also agree that the success of watching football again every Saturday will suffice for the time being until we're back on our feet.

I'm looking forward to travelling to a number of our old Ryman opponents and to clubs/grounds never visited before and all will receive the respect they're due as we're hardly in a position to do otherwise given the circumstances by which we now exist.

I recall going to Croydon a few years back when WEFC were playing in the Ryman Leagues ... If my memory serve me correctly the ground really hard to find and has a running track around the outside? I seem to remember some grass banking too?

I think the fans were a pretty friendly bunch.

HI Windsor_sec welcome to the forum.

Thank you for your interesting comments . So you have experienced Croydon Arena, well at least you know what to tell the players, and The Fan is correct, we have a Croydon member SMUDGE (and supporter altho' he won't admit it !), he is the ideal person to get you/Windsor to Croydon the simplest and quicker route to the Arena if there is one ........LOL !

No WS of course not, I don't have the knowledge of every CCL Premier clubs budget, but I do know alot of people in football (ie) managers, coaches and chairman's so information leaks out from time to time. The budget leaked about @ £1500 is more than enough to win the CCL Premier infact that should be good enough for top 5-10 in the Rymans/Souther League Div. 1 but for a manager to PROMISE a top five finish on travelling expenses only is a dangerous statement to make.

I do appreciate your comments that a high players budget does not guarantee promotion, but if managed well, you have a very good chance as Chertsey and Guildford and Camberley proved last season.

So do you know your average home gate and away support ?

I personally am looking forward to visiting Stag Meadow again, having good memories of playing there (nice pitch), and that I haven't been there for some time..... probably 6 years ago now !

Enjoy the season WS, maybe we will bump into each other.............but then again maybe not !

Windsor and Eton had around 110 - 140 home fans, with probably 30 going to most away games.

Whether the new club has the same, we will have to wait and see. There are a few fans who have indicated they will not be returning due to the appointment of Keith Scott.

Thanks well at least the home team has some indication on what to expect when Windsor visit and vise-versa.

Yeah LN thats what I thought would happen as soon as I heard the appointment, its a shame really The club are relying on an old previous manager who got Windsor & Eton to the dizzy heights in the Southern League, so will be the person who should repeat the performance in a lower league, but it doesn't always work out that way !!!

It's really hard to know yet what numbers will be watching us this season, will there be less because of the perceived drop in standard, will there be more because it's about 30% cheaper to get in, will the appointment make that much difference, will we get bigger midweek gates because we're going to play on Mondays to avoid the Champions League, the list is endless?

Okay, to clear up my comments. i said I though the budget would be comensurate with a promotion team. I believbe the budget will be good enough to compete for trhe title but you cannot guarantee a title (ask Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham from last year). I never mentioned an amount, but i would guess (without any actual knowledge) of between £1k and £1.5k, but I am not the money man so don't know.

Also been to Croydon, didn't they have a marbles competition there for one match. Just absolute genius, not enough marbles competitions in the world, and was it Croydon or Croydon Athletic that had teh ski slope behind the goal (or am I thinking of a different ground, it was so long ago...)

Starting to look forward to thenew season, really hope that fans don't automtically assume we are arrogant tossers, as we have been there, relegation for 3 years in a row and apretty torrid time for a while. We appreciate new grounds and don't dismiss grounds as rubbish, we have seen a wide variety of grounds and appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to make a club work.

So come to Stag Meadow, you will get a warm welcome and we hope you offer us the same.

I'm going to go for:

PREM; cambo, molesley and windsor

Div 1; Guernsey, Worcester Park, Knaphill

Div 1 is going to be so tight could of literally picked half of the league. I think it will be better making a prediction after first few games to see what players are where etc.

Ski slope I think you will find was at Harlow, yes you were right, they did hold a marbles competition at the Arena, unlike at Windsor and Eton where they had Narbles, and shafted their creditors for THOUSANDS,I do not assume your arrogant tossers, your posts are so full of humility,it tells me you are.

Monday night games, why not Wednesday no champions league games that night either.

Have you arranged that with UEFA then Smudge as Wednesdays have been a regular Champions League night for as long as I can remember :wall:

Think I read it somewhere, things do change you know.Windsor and Eton F.C. were a well run Football Club for as long as I can remember,or did I read it somewhere.
