Non League Day - 3rd September 2011

After last years successful Non League Day, this years date is the 3rd September. Bulgaria are playing England the night before so no Premiership or Championship game and a chance for all lower league clubs to tempt new fans to watch their games.

This is also the date for the FA Cup Preliminary round, so let's hope we get a home draw this time.

So. If you get a home draw would any reduction in admission need to be agreed with the opposition as it is the FA Cup?

So we've got a home FA Cup game, be great to be involved even if it got a few extra punters it's a fantastic opportunity to promote the club.

If it's moved to a Sunday might even get a few more.

Ok I am getting ready to be shot, as again I might have this wrong, but I thought we were already playing on Sunday 4th as Beaconsfield were at home on the Sat.

Sunday can still count as a Non League Day promotion - even more so with hardly any other games to watch. Be good to offer a deal for season ticket holders from other clubs - if of course the FA Cup rules allow it.

FA Cup is a 100% pay on the gate, with the takings being split, and the home team paying the away travel expenses.

So both clubs would have to agree something and get (I think) ratification from the FA to action their proposals.

 

We will need to act fast if we are going to do something

Seems to be lots of clubs getting involved so i'm sure something can be sorted with FA and whoever we play. More punters means more cash for them as well.

Where people going tomorrow for non league day?

I'm off to Shoreham v Arundel. Should be a thriller (and at least its only a bus ride away)

St Ives (Huntingdon v AFC Sudbury). £5 for Adults, kids go free.

 

Unfortunately I won't be able to wear my rebels scarf as Sudbury paly in yellow!
