Another sad loss to the entertainment world. People obviously remember him for Colombo but I always think of his role as the grandfather in the wonderful Princess Bride - in my opinion one of the greatest films ever made

LATO - You beat me to it, yes very sad news, I've never seen The Wonderful Princess Bride, the same as you have never seen Titanic and Schindlers List, however I've heard great things about Peter Falk in it from a lot of people. RIP.

I was never really a great fan of 'Columbo', but Peter did appears in some brillian fims.

I see that Peter Falk left just £3m in his will, the bulk of which went to his widow Shera who he married some 33 years ago. Taking into account he became a household name in the 70's with Columbo, and has also appeared in more than 40 films, 3m seems like peanuts doesn't it for a high profile resident of Beverley Hills.
