Recently I was given some minor moderator powers, the same as Smudge, mainly coz I needed to edit the CCL Websites thread throughout the season.

 

I've been a mod before on other forums so I'm quite happy doing this sort of admin sort of role. Over the last few days I've merged a few threads, edited a few people's posts to correct their quotations and so on. All in aid of making the forum neater and easier to read and manage.

 

I thought, now, before the season starts, would be a good time to canvass opinion as this grows and grows into a busy forum again, to gauge opinion on a few things. So I've posed a couple of questions in poll form. The second one isn't meant to be a dig at any people in particular but they must be aware that it is a topic of conversation so I figured we might as well bring it out into the open!!

 

Feel free to post your thoughts after voting or to ask any questions of me or Smudge in the thread. Let's be nice and democratic and then move into the new season with a fresh face.

Think the majority of pretend swearing is fine, kent, fecker ect, no need for it to be deleted, only when the thread get personal and abusive should it be edited.

Agree with Teflon (the bald kent!) in that when the threads start turning away from the 'thread subject' then something needs to happen as it's just get's a bit boring, in my opinion. Maybe it's because it's close season and no games to talk about.

 

I'm more than happy with you, and Smudge, having mod rights Leigh. From when i joined this forum 5 years ago it has moved on massively since then and that's great to see, long may it continue. In this respect I think it could do with a little bit of mod help every now and again.

I'M NOT SAYING WE NEED A MODERATOR 'COS I AGREE WITH THE WORK YOU DO WHICH IS COMMENDABLE, BUT TO INTERFERE WITH OTHER FORUMITES POSTS AND OPINONS MAKES THE FORUM BECOMS A FARCE. FORUMS ARE FOR PEOPLE TO VOICE THEIR OPINIONS, COMMENTS AND THE LIKE OTHERWISE WHATS THE POINT OF IT.

Only got the 'power' a day or two back and haven't yet touched one of your posts NG.

OK, maybe I should clarify this one. Sometimes people muck up the quotes' tags so that the new thing they are saying appears within the quote bubble of someone else. THAT is all I have corrected. It seems to happen quite frequently and can make threads confusing to read. I would never change the meaning of someone's post. All clear now?

They are aimed at canvassing opinion from everyone! But yes, one of the issues is that of you and Duncs slating each other in thread after thread. As I found out Saturday, some people find it funny, some don't. I told Duncs that I found it boring but that's just my opinion.

both NG and Dunc's have quite often got very good points of discussion on many issues but, before we open a thread, how are we supposed to know its a dig at each other or its one of them discussing a football issue??

 

we open a thread hoping for a continuation of the discussion only to find its another pop at one another. Thats the bit that gets boring and frankly wastes our time !

The only time I can remember having a pop at somebody on here was an anonymous "idiot" that wrote into the Non-League Paper and it turned out to be you, lol. Think I apologised for the name calling and reworded the point I was trying to make

Well with him deleting all his numbers on he’s phone couldn’t miss the opportunity in texting him on my phone saying this is coops number, and then texting him on the missus phone saying it was my number great fun for about 2 hrs. He nearly told the world about a lot if s@@t.

brilliant,he had over 800 numbers on his phone and every time he sends a text he sends it to everyone and then the kent tells me not to tell anybody what he has said ha ha.
