PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES WANTED!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I've just noticed this thread. I was gonna ask if anyone knew who this new AFC Bisley team are. Google bought me here!

Strangely, on some club's sites, the GWA Premier Division has AFC Sheerwater listed rather than AFC Bisley.

To go straight into the Premier Division means the side must have some form. Most clubs start in Division 4.

Good luck whoever you are.

VPCTFC, AFC Bisley are a team that was formed by a group of friends that did not get the Sheerwater FC job when Cookie, me and Ruggles where chosen, hense you seeing the name AFC Sheerwater in some places. The plan was to form AFC Sheerwater and try to overtake our status and out us from the Rec where we play. Thankfully we put a stop to this and they were refused the use of the Rec which meant they had to find somewhere else to play. Bisley FC, beware. Not sure what affiliation they have with Farnborough as they only hire the ground at Bisley, it is Bisley FC that are affiliated to Farnborough. All a bit BTK for me.

I am all for helping non league football and see it as a community where we all come together, not try to cause problems for one another with vindictive plans. I have been disappointed when I have not got a job but would not go to these bitter lengths of retaliation. I for one have seen some of the text messages that have been exchanged.

I have had the pleasure of meeting one of the clubs members, it was at Frimley Green, he was on the bench until the 82nd minute but then he disappeared as he had not been brought on by that time. We were lucky not to have had an injury in the remainder of the match which included 6 minutes of injury time. He is not the only one who has done a disappearing act from Sheerwater however as the reserve manager done the same a few games into the last season and may have been the reason for not getting the job this time round.

Some things really p1ss me off in football and this is one of them, we are doing everything we can now at Sheerwater to improve everything we have for the future. It is a project for us all and takes a lot of hard work which makes me appreciate what other clubs have done. I would never do things like this to any club even if they are just an attempt that failed.

My rant is over so just the legals, this is my view (of which I am entitled to) and not the view of Sheerwater FC as a club or any other members of it.

P.S, the group of players we now have at Sheerwater are knitting together nicely and are an honest bunch, they will tell me of any tapping up Wolfman, so as they have signed on now, if I hear of any more illegal approaches I will report them. I am sure the current group are not interested in joining you, you had your fill and helped us with our cull by taking them but now leave them to concentrate on the season ahead.

Good luck with your venture, however long it lasts.

Fair Points there YV. Good luck to you all at Sheerwater this season. Cookie had a fantastic buncn when they finished 09/10 season at Frimley and if you can all pull together then the season should be a success.

I know this is late notice but Godalming Town are hoping to squeeze in an extra friendly in midweek next week if anyone is interested?

It would need to be an away game and ideally we're looking for a CCL Prem side on Tuesday night (26th July) but at this stage would obviously be happy to hear from other sides who might be interested and potentially we'd look at other days during the week if that helps.

Cheers.

Briggers, as per PM I have just sent to you, we won't be able to go with the plan we discussed yesterday I'm afraid. Thanks again for getting in touch.

This means we are still looking for a game next Tuesday. Also yesterday we were let down by Carshalton who were due to visit us for a friendly next Saturday 30th July. This gives us a real gap next week and we would now consider friendlies on any day during next week and obviously next Saturday (when we are happy to play at GTFC) so if anyone is free please get in touch. My number is 07870 878327.

Cheers

Jon
