Odd that no-one from Cranfield has actually confirmed or denied this or commented on it.

As of now I don't believe he is signed on at Cranfield

What the future holds is anyone's guess

Thanks for the post mate, surely you wouldn't want someone like this at a good club like yours?

I'm glad you are of the opinion we are a good club. Like everywhere else there is some people who work very hard to provide us with the opportunity to play football at such great facilities etc.

Back on topic,

Just to state clearly that this is my own opinion and not an official line from the club....

I didn't know the bloke at all. Never met him previously and never knew about the past.

I have read all of the stories and various opinions from people on here.

My view was very much that he made a mistake and was punished for it. I don't think that anyone can condone his actions, but I believe everyone deserves a second chance in life.

I've since met him and not had any issues so far. He's cracked on with training and in a couple of games. The club are trying to improve the playing staff and he would be an improvement for us.

I respect everyone's opinion on here and appreciate that mine seems to be in the minority but would rather be clear on my views than sitting on the fence or trying to mix things up.

I respect your honesty and wish you well, lovely set up and decent hard working people down there. However I'm not sure I go along with the 2nd chance thing, he got his by getting off lightly in my opinion and someone who has that in him I wouldn't deal with him. Of course I'm not involved in the club so my opinion is inconsequential. I would say from the sounds of it you have a good squad anyway, if I was putting an American Football side together I wouldn't sign OJ Simpson even if he would improve the side. From the outside looking in (again I appreciate that it probably matters little to you) I can only see it causing more harm than good, he will be a marked man (he would for sure if I was on opposite side), and peoples view on the club may be tainted by association. I wish your club the best and I hope he gets everything he deserves too.

Personally, I have been reading everyone's opinion. Football is all about opinions. It would be silly to discard someone's thoughts on these types of scenarios.

You do make a good case of how it would do more harm. I think that is a time will tell situation. As I said, at present, he's been to pretty much all the sessions and played a couple of games. I can't ask for anything else.

The club is bigger than any single player so it would be a shame if people's opinion were tainted because of a member of the playing staff.

Is there anyone from Berko on here that can give their opinion? Was this discussion had previously or just now because he has been coming down to Cranfield?

Thank you for the good wishes. It's a huge season for the club and one we are hoping it is successful for us. Everyone is always welcome.

I believe it was brought up when he turned up at Berko but none of their contributors commented on it. So it speaks volumes that you have come on and talked about it openly, honestly and without resorting to name calling, mud slinging etc... which many would have I'm sure.

There is always room in life for second chances. It's when they offend again on their 3rd, 4th etc that irks me.

Example of 2nd chance.

Dany Heatley

Daniel James Heatley (born January 21, 1981) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger currently playing for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). Originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers second overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, he won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the top NHL rookie in 2002. However, after being responsible for [1] a car accident in September 2003 that killed teammate and close friend Dan Snyder, he requested a trade and was subsequently dealt to the Ottawa Senators.

One of the Senators' perennial leading scorers during his tenure with Ottawa, Heatley set franchise records for single-season goals (50), which he achieved in back to back seasons in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, and points (105), during the 2006-2007 season. He played on the left wing with line mates Jason Spezza and Daniel Alfredsson. The line was consistently among the highest scoring in the NHL after its formation in the 2005-2006 season, with the trio combining for a total of 296 points that season.

He was fortunate that he didn't go to jail and that Dan Snyder's Parents didn't want him to goto jail as well.

Bloke is a scum bag and should have been locked up. Regardless of how good of a player he is i would not want him playing at any club i was involved with.

I am sure that people have come on here saying that the manager at Cranfield would never sign the bloke, that he would never stand for a person like that playing for him........ Its a Shame that he has signed for Cranfield cause all the hard work that has been put in over there will just be forgotten and people will just talk about that scum bag.

Bit extreme - i guarantee when your wife is raped and your kids have been 'fiddled' with, your concerns about someone who has told a few lies and nicked a few bob would pale into insignifigance.

Berko got rid of that sick f*ck then? good for them hopefully no other club will give him the time of day if they know what he did.

They have already signed for another Div One team is what I hear (Cranfield?).

They left - nothing to do with Berko moving them out. A big bust up at the end of last season with Vipond at their awards night. All second-hand information though so all comments are "allegedly."

Really, I can't see anyone taking him on that will have known about him from stuff on here, I vaguely remember someone linking him to Cranfield but CB(ampthill) said he knows Spec1 very well and didnt think there was anyway he'd sign him, sounds like he's put together a strong squad down there and probably wouldn't need to have him.

Hi - i generally only read this forum however i thought i would give you an update on Cranfield. By the way i am the joint manager Pat Booden.

I know Lee used to post and let you all know what was happening but he became increasingly frustrated how topics become twisted. When Lee and I took the managers job after DC packed it in we had such a big job not only on the playing side but with support within the club, we knew that the first full season would be very tuff fielding generaly an u18 team. Obviously this proved correct. Although great improvement was made building bridges and gaining support.

Lee - has worked so hard improving the facilities over the last 18 months and im sure anyone visiting will see a big improvement. This season we obviously wanted to attract a lot of new players and we have been fortunate in securing the signatures of quite a few players that have been quite successful.

Yes Stuart Reynolds has signed as have the following Sean Buxton from Bedford town Res, Paolo Aquila ( Berko & Pitstone) George Armstrong ( Margate & a couple of UCL prem sides) If things go to plan we will also be announcing at least another 4 or 5 signings very soon.

Yes we are in discussion with 2 defenders from Berko - 1 midfield player from Berko - and a forward and midfield player from Bedford Town.

I hope this has been informative.

Cheers

Pat

.

I just love the keepers new name!

do have kids then u need your head checking aswell...he deserves to be treated like the bit of [****!!****] that he is in my opinion...

Not even knowing this person. I believe everyone on here believes what he did was disgraceful. However, he has been through the legal system and judgement has been served. Let's hope he understands this and makes good decisions for his future. I figure he will know that he will be a marked man on the field. I hope that other players won't try and break his legs. Then the shame is on them.

There will b no shame on my part...ill actually feel quite proud of myself...the legal system isnt worth a shank so I don't know why your even bringing that up..people like him are wasting our much needed oxygen..not everyone deserves a second chance especially if your gonna do/say things like that..

Same legal system that allows murderers rapists and paedoes off or on light sentences. To hide behind that argument regardless is weak anyway. If a paedo had served his time would you let him babysit your kids?
