Would have been happy for him to have stayed, but equally-not the worst thing that could happen.

Could be interesting when training starts in 9 days as supposedly we just have 4 contracted players at this stage.

I suspect most of last years squad will also be at pastures new and missing from training.9hope i am wrong )

I thought clubs had to provide a list of players offeredd contracts to the FA by 1 June (over 3 weeks ago)

-not necessarily that they had re-signed-but would have been interesting to know who had at least been offered a contract (who was wanted by CK )

Of course-no rule that it should be made public; but unlike the last three seasons-on the player info front-we have possibly gone a bit backwards-hey ho-that was always the CK way-but not sure it is correct in todays instant instant info age.

Is part of the role of club manager in todays environment to sell the club to the supporters (and thus season ticket sales) and does providing a bit more player info help on that front ?

However-again-was always the CK way-and he always got there in the end-by assembling his last minute squads-which in the main did pretty good-so i guess patience has to be a virtue as before ?

Here, with confirmation of the situation regarding Ossie and a broader explanation of the situation for out of contract players. See www.margate-fc.com.

Picking up Michael's point, certainly some comms policy with regard to players is set in collaboratively with the manager and CK is one that prefers to play his cards closer to his chest than either of our last two managers.

However, the fundemental policy of not announcing signings until they are formally complete has been in place for some time and will continue to be so. The last time we drifted away from that concerned Paul Johnson. I'll say no more.

Ryman 1 South is his level. Got caught out far too often for my liking. But I will never forget THAT Binfield goal. Easily one of the best goals I've seen in a Margate shirt. All the best Tommy at Margate reserves.... sorry, Maidstone.

Margate reserves remit last season was to develop youngsters from 16 years of age in the academy and see how many could in the future make the 1st team squad. Not operate as a care home for aging ex 1st team players.

For its 1st season and the youthfuL personal I think they did well. Again personally i believe we had around 7 who, if they wanted it enough, given time, could make it.
