Looking at Guernsey's sponsors SPORTINGBET, do you think they will do odds on the betting??????...Would be very interested in this

Hi, we do have bookies here but none of the national chains are present, they are all run by locals and all but one are in the centre St Peter Port.

 

I have heard unconfirmed reports that Sportingbet may have a tent at Footes Lane for the games though for the fans to put bets on the game (not sure the players will be allowed).

Make sure SportingBet get that fully authorised before you allow them to pitch up.

 

FA rule E8 covers betting on football matches, although there is an exception for the pools. From the FA handbook at http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/RulesandRegulations

 

A participant shall not, either directly or indirectly, bet, or instruct, permit or enable any person to bet, on the result, progress or conduct of a match or competition in which the participant is participating, or has participated in that season, or in which the participant has any influence, either direct or indirect.”

 

A participant shall not use, or provide to any other person any information relating to football which the Participant has by virtue of his or her position within the game and which is not publicly available for, or in relation to, betting.

 

A participant is listed as an "affiliated Association, authorised agent, competition, club, club official, licenced agent, player, official, match official, management committee member, member or employee of an affiliated club......."

 

And people do get charged and heavily fined by the FA for breaching the rule so be careful.

Like i said, it's just rumour so might not even (and probably isnt) be happening.

 

Edit - Although lots of league teams have bookies inside the grounds anyway.
