Why are??

Clubs like Clacton,Harwich,Halstead,saffron walden to name 4,not pushed into the Essex Senior League??

All 4 are clubs with decent facilities in decent size towns who in my opinion should be playing in the Essex Senior League with a view to gaining entry to the Ryman league.

Surely it would be in their best interests,the travelling would be similar and after all they are Essex clubs

Saffron Walden and Halstead are in Ridgeons one step six so they wouldnt be moved sideways but gaining promotion from such a move.

and Wivenhoe, Staway, i did an average attendance comparision between the two leagues, the esl's best team could only beat one team for a better average and the rest all came well under every team, lack of revenue from away supporters could be one reason. (Didnt Harwich go bust)

 

Facilities of at least half the esl could be a 2nd reason, You have grounds in esl without turnstyles, clubhouses, and 4 sides...lol. Clubs like Wivenhoe used to have a fanbase and thier fans will at least have a drink at a clubhouse.

 

I would suggest the away support has got to be the reason, also when you win the Ridgeons and get promoted, you are strong Ryman sides see Bury Town, Lowestoft, Needham Mkt, all near the top end of the Ryman League last season. The first two in the Ryman Premier having gone straight through at Lowestoft.

 

If you had an esl of : (on facilities for fans)

1.Basildon 9.Wivenhoe

2.Bowers 10.Stanway

3.Burnham 11.FC Clacton

4.Enfield FC 12 Saffron Walden

5.Barkingside 13 Halsted

6.Mauritius 14 Hullbridge (if they can put a 6 foot fence down the clubhouse end, so everyone dont watch free)

7.Southend Manor 15 Stansted (if they can carry on the work they are doing behind the goal and put a turnstyle)

8.Takeley 16 Barking (if the clubhosue gets built)

17 Eton Manor (if they stay at W.Abbey)

18 Witham Town

 

That would be one hell of a league, the likes of Bgu, Clapton, Apsa could compete in esl one for clubs without certain things for step.5

Although I'm 47 next month and could well be a young grandad my kids are only 18 and 7 the boys and 7 the girl.You know my wife has always been told at work that she was lucky to have a toyboy only for her to snap and reply I'm 3 younger than him!!!Plus I enjoyed life in my young days and the proof is I haven't lost any hair or gone grey!lol

To be fair to us we had the second best crowd of the season 224 behind enfield we averaged about 100 for every home game r facilitys r in the top 3 I the league and we get complements about our ground ok we don't have a bar on site at present as we drink in a social club near the ground but from where we come from 4 years ago there ant 1 team that had done as much work as us a.d hopefully in. The next year or two were have a bad on site.
