The following commentary appeared in the Non League Daily earlier this week:

'Dave Mudge, the former Windsor & Eton manager, has announced that he

will not be the new manager of the newly formed Windsor FC.

Following several meetings with the new committee and having heard nothing since being interviewed at the Runnymede hotel some five weeks ago, Mudge added that he wished everyone involved with the newly formed club a succesfull seasonat step 5 in the non-league pyramid.

Commenting, Mudge (pictured) stated that it was a shame that he would not be there next season after such a great experience last year which saw Windsor& Eton chasing a play-off spot until its unfortunate demise.'

I just want to clarify out of respect to Dave and the great job that both he and Byron (Walton) did last season for Windsor & Eton F.C. that we would never disrespect him by interviewing him and then not contacting for 5 weeks. In reality Dave was in contact with one of the Interviewing Panel on an almost daily basis throughout this period.

I realise that sometimes these things get, 'misquoted' by the press but to reassure you all, there has been more dialogue with Dave than any other candidate, which is a reflection of the respectful way that we wanted to handle both Dave and his interest in the Manager's position.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding.
