In the bar I met...

Mr Zeal, who was very talkative (I'm guessing as a result of intoxicating liquor). He was wearing a blue St Albans shirt, with the later addition of a pint of beer over his back. Showing his true colours he purchased and later wore our magnificent Urchin home shirt. His hair was swashed back, ponytail fashion, and had red highlights.

Tomsy Thumb. Mr Thumb attended the occasion sporting a red 'CCCP' 1980's styled sports jacket. His hair, also in the 80's style of three 'mohican' blond stripes, noticable roots. Very quiet. Never smiled.

Mr Lazarou. Another maniac who decided the weather forecasters were lying when they said it was going to be cold. Didn't get a chance to talk to him but seemed a pleasant chap, again didn't say much.

Tall thing guy. Unfortunately my mind wandered whe I was intoduced to him so I really don't know which one he was. Sorry about that. Jolly fellow and he seemed like someone others could easily get on with. Jumped around a lot, as though someone had wound up the key in his back. Didn't say much, but appeared to be happy.

My summary...

All in all a nice quad of lads (notice absence of GHA). Though 3 were very quiet I put it down to them not being able to get a word in edge ways due to Mr Zeal's outstanding effort to use up all the air in the room. Shame they couldn't have stayed for longer as I was enjoying myself, though this did help by the fact I swapped my programme (£1) with a Strongbow (£2.30).

I think the Urchinettes were impressed too - especially Emma I seem to remember before the game. Though she didn't have any qualms about volunteering to carry my drink outside for me, which I was very grateful for.

My shirt was £22.50 but that's only because I requested one with an embroidered badge. The others are indeed £7.50. Can purchase their 3rd strip too (white with red stripes down the arms - v nice).

Point 1: I Assume that was you that wrote the brief match reports, "Borgie" humorous quote and whatever.

Generally, I thought your programme was a little thin on material, with short basic articles; but it also showed that your club is interested in what its supporters have to say. It seemed to incorperate fanzine material, but I don't think that is a bad thing. It makes it more of a read.

Our programme is stuffed full of infomation, but most of it is predictable each week.

Point 2: We've seen it before: Stevenage, Canvey, are good examples, but there are clubs that have spent money on players then been cripped by massive wage bills when it all goes wrong. The free coach is a good idea. Our supporters moan about paying £8 or whatever!

Is Uncle Urchin paying the band? Lose them!
