Andy Furnell has welcomed the decision to move Soham Town Rangers into the Ryman League Division One North for the 2011/12 season. Rangers had been earmarked for another season in the Zamaretto League Division One Central but Rushden & Diamonds’ expulsion from the Blue Square Premier and possible entry into the Southern League prompted a move to the Ryman League.

 

"It’s something the club has tried to get changed over the last couple of years so this is good news for us," said Furnell. "Now it’s happened we’re all excited and looking forward to going to some new places. "There should not be as much travelling to do which is good. I’ve had a brief look at the league and the majority of clubs are within easy reach. "When you’re playing away on a Tuesday night and you’ve got a two-and-a-half-hour journey so won’t be getting back until about 12.30am and have got work the next day, it can cause problems."
