Salaries or bonuses in the ESL?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if any club in the ESL can afford to offer their players any salary or bonus based on points. Is it possible at this level or just in the Contributory Leagues?

Around how much is the annual budget of a ESL club?

I was just wondering..

Cheers!!

Good day and welcome "Ruigi",

I am glad you brought this subject up as I have a number of "moles" feeding me constant information. Now, you don't know my track record but I can assure you I always get these things spot on. My co-detective Eric Matthews has been underground for some time now but recently he sent me a dossier on all clubs in that particular area.

I have a guy called Peter Strahm compliing information on the other side of Essex. He insists the big spenders will be Witham Town with a £2225 budget for the coming season. That is a weekly figure believe it or not. Their top scorer for last season, Rob Whitnell, was apparently offered £350 a week and £75 a goal in order to lure him back from Brentwood Town.

Enfield 1893 has £2000 a week last season to spend on the players and coaching staff but it is unclear what their budget will be following their failed promotion attempt.

Most other clubs will have limited budgets if at all. I can tell you that Burnham Ramblers, Hullbridge Sports, Basildon Utd and Barking are working without financial resources. Bowers and Pitsea and Southend Manor work with small budgets circa £400 a week.

The truth is out there Ruigi, the truth is out there

The truth Witham would love to have a quarter of that figure.... no ones has answered this but why would the budget increase from Ryman days to the esl which is far inferior league, hoffman is pissing in the wind Rugi.dance%20(2).gif
