I never thought the day would come !

Recommended Posts

For the first time in 31 years i face the prospect of a new season starting and not being involved at a club.

I dont think i can face getting dragged around the shops every Saturday and spending week nights in the house.

A playing comeback is not an option and there are no jobs available.

Do i take the leap and do a refs course.

Have i lost the plot ?

We all bang on about ex palyers making better refs.

Shall i move to the dark side ?

Help me in my hour of need

Well anything other than going round the shops every Sat!!

A ref's course sounds a good idea to me. Failing that, this is a good chance to get out and about and watch a load of teams and leagues that you maybe haven't been able to watch while you were busy managing.

Do the referees course and then follow it up with refereeing on a league local to you and ARing on the CCL. During the season you could then update the forum on your progress and experiences of being on the 'dark side'.

Sounds like something that would be a great regular feature on here...

Love that reply. I guess you didn't book me during the season 2010 to 2011 as the ones that did weren't as sharp as you.
