Apparently they have been given 21 days more to sort themselves out.

With reported debt 5 fold to that of Windsor the general opinion is that it is just delaying the inevitable.

If they were to join our league if they came down to our level it would be very bad for our title hopes in my opinion. They would have much more money to throw around

Debt five times that of Windsor but with money to throw around? Hardly likely! If they were wound up by the High Court in 21 days' time, I very much doubt there would be time to start up a new club for the 2011/12 season and even if they did, it wouldn't be at our level.

Still, if they were saved and admitted in to the Southern League, it would solve the argument of who's got the nicest ground in the league I suppose.

My point Matt is that if they are admitted to the Southern league they will be debt free..........or have some kind of pay back contingency

They will then still get 3000 at home games and so 2500 more than anyone else. Thats 2500 times £8 more on players.

Average attendance in 2010/11 - 1255. Gates fallen 25% on previous season.

R&D gloryhunters have moved on and will only get worse as times get tough. I doubt the 'new' club would be able to afford to play at Nene Park.

I don't want to see any club fail but wasn't it always going to end like this once Max Giggs withdrew his money? They play in Irthlingborough, a population of just 9,000 which is smaller than the housing estate i live on. Southern Premier or below is probably their natural home once the millionaire businessmen stopped pumping money in.

I think Max Griggs was a considerable amount better than a lot of the money men we see in the game having built up the facilities and then left them to the club. I think they've had a decent base from which to work from, but clearly have mismanaged it trying to chase the dream as we've seen at far too many other clubs.

Thats my understanding of the situation too Gary. Max Griggs selling up was the day the clubs problems started. The Supporters Trust had good intentions but not the financial clout to 'support' the club and then when the Trust realised they couldnt do it they were unfortunate with their decision on who to sell to. Now we have to all-to-familiar scenario where the current Board are playing the 'investment on its way' card to try and force the Courts to give them a stay of execution.

I wish the club no harm in any way but as others have said, if you dont live within your means, you risk your fingers getting burnt.
