A cracking turn out tonight from the clubs fans. The AGM lasted for 2 hours and for me was the most positive sign in 2 years that the Supporters Association is now a valued asset to the club.

Many issues were discussed and we have a new member of the committee in Nicky Jones, our new membership secretary.Nicky will take membership by the turnstiles on match days and we hope this will enable us to push the volume of membership up from around 60 members the last two years. It is certainly positive so far with 20 members signing up tonight, some new and with many other pledges of members to come from those there tonight and others who couldn't make it.

The simple fact is that the more members we have the more money we generate to assist the club with.

One point of note was a young 10 year old who asked to join the committee but unfortunately due to his age it is not possible but he is going to help Jordan out on matchdays and if he can be anything like Jordan he can become a credit to the club.

This got me thinking, youth is vital to the survival of any football club and the more youngsters coming through, the more enthusiasm comes out.Kids often have cracking ideas but can often forget them easily as they have so much going on.An idea I have had is to form (out of the junior members) a Junior committee of which they can meet once a month on a Saturday lunchtime to talk about any plans they have for the club and supporters club, they may come out with some wayward ideas at times but every now and then they may come up with a little nugget,Jordan did when he was younger.I wouldn't have any rank in the committee but just get them round a table talking and making them feel more of a part of the club.Perhaps have one of the senior committee sitting with them to make sure they all get a say????
