Banstead were originally listed as a Premier B side in the proposed constitution but they withdrew and I don't think they're having a reserve team this season now. Leaves the ground open for a groundshare and there is a club not far from there in the Surrey Elite looking for a groundshare at a CCL ground for next season and beyond.

The details are on Twitter. All just enquiries at the moment and it may not happen but you never know.

Was an interesting AGM to say the least. You can never please all teams but a few teams r not very happy with what has happened. I suppose I shouldnt really say who but one club even threatened to pull out after the constitution had been ratified!

Was also quite interesting hearing that the league had canvassed opinion from all their member clubs yet not many teams seemed to believe they had been questioned. One promoted team was angry because they feel going up was a step much for them and they finished outside the promotion places anyway!

In saying all this, the league is stronger than ever, we now even have a Football league club in it (AFC Wimbledon have stayed) + 8 Blue Square League sides. I guess the committee deserves credit for this, so fair play to them.

Totally agree Luke, you cannot please every team but lets be honest the Surburban who boasts 53 clubs in their league/div's so is getting stronger and stronger each year so thats a massive credit must go out to them. Many clubs recently leave the CCL reserve league because the other clubs facilities, grounds and pitches and strength testing them against the best which as Luke states constitutes a Footbal League club and 8 Conference clubs !

Sometimes there are no pleasing. The club in question nevertheless has been honest to say that promotion will not be adequate for their club maybe because of the standard of their reserves ? One club I do feel a bit for is Hanworth Villa being placed in the North Div whereas, looking at the clubs in the South Div. they would have been better off in that division ?

It maybe a geographical decision I don't know, so let our anoraks VP or GF answer that one for us !

I for one, go to watch quite a few games in the Suburban 'cos there are a lot of talented young players who could comfortably ply their trade in tne CCL Prem.

Well done the Suburban League !

In my opinion, I believe the CCL committee really need to study their reserve section 'cos teams are leaving season by season 'simply for the attraction of the other teams in the Suburban.

Hi Inbetweener

Our reserves will be playing out of Cobham FC (as the first team currently do), and will be playing all their home games midweek.

Briggers

Any info on where mole valley reserves are playing as i am sure the suburban wont allow them to play on the hell hole with a hill in bookham

I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE MATTER OF EPSOM EAGLES REARS ITS UGLY HEAD AGAIN. IT COULD WELL BE A RUMOUR BUT I SAW BANSTEAD RESERVES A FEW TIMES LAST SEASON AND THEY ARE A VERY QUICK AND TOGTHER TEAM, THIS COMES FROM PLAYING FOR EPSOM EAGLES YOUTH AND THEN WENT UNDER THE BANNER OF BANSTEAD RESERVES. I STAND CORRECTED, BUT I DON'T THINK ANY RESERVES ACTUALLY PLAYED FOR BANSTEAD 1ST TEAM 'COS IN MY OPINION A FEW COULD WELL HAVE, SOME FRICTION BETWEEN THE 2 TEAMS PERHAPS ?.

I AM NOT TOO SURE IF THERE WAS ANY ANIMOSITY BETWEEN BANSTEAD AND EPSOM EAGLES WHICH MAYBE THE REASON THE RESERVES HAVE FOLDED OR PLAYING ELSEWHERE. WHAT A SHAME 'COS THEY HAD SOME GOOD PLAYERS AND WELL WORTHY OF WINNING THE LEAGUE LAST SEASON.

AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF EPSOM EAGLES AT BANSTEAD, A RUMOUR HAD IT THAT IF ESPSOM EAGLES BROUGHT THE LEASE/LAND THE 1ST TEAM WOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME TO EPSOM UTD ( OR THE LIKE) ? THIS HAS BEEN ON THE BOIL FOR SOME TIME, CAN ANYONE BRIEF US WITH AN UPDATE AND WHY BANSTEAD RELINQUISHED THEIR RESERVES ?

EL GAFFER CAN YOU HELP SOLVE THIS MYSTERY ?

Looks very elitist to me,so is their any promotion or relegation from the Premier. With only 10 Teams as well, will they play each other more than once.Only saw 1 Suburban game last year where Leatherhead played Tonbridge, good standard between 2 evenly matched sides, bet Leatherhead were not happy at being demoted.

Yes it is partly elitist, but what the conference clubs said was they felt they were playing to many games and the league felt this was the only way to keep them happy.

Premier 'B' is not an official demotion (re leatherhead). The league have to keep this amount of premier clubs so they can have step 4 referees. If u look at prem b u have the likes of tooting, met police, uxbridge etc so it will still b a very gd league. U also have the odd weak team like Camberley who even we beat 1-0 (waits for vp to take the bait)

Farnborough's premier a team will be made up of all their squad players and their div1 side will be made up of all their youth team players.

Hope this answers most of the above questions. X

No real mystery. I understand last season's Reserve Team Manager decided to step down after not being offered the 1st Team Manager's job for the coming season. From that decision, I decided against running a Reserve team for the season ahead so we pulled them out the league. I don't believe the 2 sides were run in conjunction with each other last season and from my understanding that is down to the Reserves wanting to be a 'seperate' team in their 1st year of the Suburban. Depending on how the coming season goes, we may reintroduce a Reserve side next season.

As for the naming question, I haven't got a clue!

So the Suburban League does not value all Clubs equally, poor show in my opinion.Maybe the F.A. should follow their lead and have a 10 Club Premiership, this would help our National Side, who are too knackered to play according to Capello.Marvels me that Clubs send reps to meetings, who do not have the b*lls to oppose what the Leagues want.

I don't believe they've gone anywhere but could be wrong. I was told that the Manager was going back to being a referee so maybe the team has disbanded

There was plenty of people debating with them! Myself included but in the end the current format was the only way to keep the most member clubs happy.
