MISA AGM and membership

A reminder to you all that the AGM will take place this Thursday June 9 commencing at 7.30 pm.

Allcomers are welcome to come along and find out what MISA have been doing over the last year and have their say in

what they like and maybe what they don't like! It is also the opportunity to renew your membership or for newcomers to join.

The fee remains £5 p.a. with concessions at £3.

Regarding membership there is the opportunity for MISA to sponsor a home match next season.

However to do so we need to reach a target of 150 members. Once this total has been attained all names will go into a hat and ten lucky winners will be drawn.

So for just £5 or £3 you will have the opportunity of a cracking day out whilst getting your fee back many times over! Why not give it a whirl.

Thankyou.

Eye opening meeting last night. Well done to everyone in MISA what a fantastic achievement in being able to donate so much to MFC in the way of donations and just as importantly match day support in catering and other areas and hospitality for the match sponsors.

Very good of MFC Director Cliff Egan to come along and thank the group on behalf of the Board and the Club.

Once again well done to everyone from a grateful supporter.

Up The Gate

PS only a fiver or three pounds to join, bargain! and worth it just for a chance to enjoy hospitality in the Sponsors lounge at a match next season.

I believe 150 members is the target so that 10 lucky members can enjoy the match day sponsorship experience which is on offer to all potential sponsors at £500 a match for up to 10 persons. The club gets £500 and ten members get a great lunch et al

keith.lewis2008@talktalk.net is the contact for MISA membership . Those with £500 to spend on their own sponsored match can contact Cliff Egan on

Just to restate the statement at the top of this post:

Once this total has been attained all names will go into a hat and ten lucky winners will be drawn. The chairman also asked for more members of MISA to join the committee as we are down to about five or six now, all but one of whom is over 60 and most over 65 - Sadly no response.

He also asked if any members could volunteer to assist the five or so pensioners who do most of the ground repairs and supply the catering facilities on match days - Sadly no response.

These are just my personal observations as a MISA member and can not be attributed to the MISA committee.

Trying to be constructive here, but this may come across as being negative (that is not the intention).

MISA rightly or wrongly is perceived to be an Old Mans Club - indeed I'm sure that if you were to analyse the Membership stats most Members are men over 50 (myself included). To improve membership numbers MISA will have to ask why this is so & find out what They need to do to address the situation and encourage younger members.

For example why not ask the members of 'The Choir' - a regular group of Supporters who attend Home & Away games - what measures they'd like a Supporters Association to support & see if you can get them to help achieve those goals from within MISA..

I hope this suggestion is received in the right spirit.

I am sure it will be Superblues. When I was on the committe we did actually have a couple of the choir on board but not sure why the came off.

As to ground maintenance maybe if some of the work was done on weekends more people may be available, myself included, as people do work during the week, hence the usual retired people doing it all. Just a suggestion.

One of the issues about MISA membership was that it did allow a discount in the bar. Now the discount is only Club Shop.

Perhaps their could be a small discount on programmes or burger bar.

When people arrive at the Maragte are the people on the turnstiles/50/50 draw and programme sellers/stewards Volunteers. I suspect they all are, perhaps we need to ask more spefically for help in certain areas, rather than just a whooly we would like help. If someone more smarter and in the know was to list and details all jobs/times/res[ponsibilities they are looking for peopel to cover, this might generate a more positive response.

Just a thought... WHEN'S FOOTBALL STARTING!!!!!!!!!
