DRAWING OF LOTS.

Recommended Posts

With the A.G.M fast approaching, and the almost certain inclusion of Guernsey F.C. in C.C.L.1 next season.Would it not be a good idea for the drawing of lots to take place at the A.G.M.,as to when Teams go to Guernsey.

Would this just not cause even more of a headache on the fixture secretary (Whitelaw?). The unenviable task of accomodating teams that don't have a home ground available in certain months, lack of floodlights for midweek games etc, would have a knock on effect perhaps.

The idea as I had been led to believe that all away fixtures where to be on Saturdays,no midweek games at all away.Sunny August,September,Freezing Cold January,February, which would you rather have?

Missing the point slightly, for example Worcester Park cant use their ground in August and the tail end of the season and so have no choice but to play away games during those periods, would it not be better for instance that they be one of the first teams to play at Guernsey because of this. If every team had access to their ground throughout the whole season then drawing lots could work as there are less exceptions to worry about.

Exactly the point,I am trying to make, Worcester Park would profit from not having the right facilities in place, whereas Hartley Wintney would not mind going in January, because they have the right facilities. So working on your theory Farleigh,Eversley,Sheerwater,Spelthorne, can expect nice sunny weather too, because they have no lights.Fair I think not.

Adding into the mix, teams like us at Feltham that groundshare. So many exceptions to make throughout the season, don't envy the fixture secretary.

Or last Tuesday of Season 6 p.m. K.O.This is why I believe that their inclusion will cause so many headaches for all Clubs. Not a level playing field if they have to make midweek trips here, and other C.C.L.Clubs do not have to make midweek trips there.Which mark my words will happen, due to the weather over the last 2 seasons,is a guideline.

I'm sure whitelaw is already well prepared for this! I imagine the permutations are wandering round his brain all the time at present. Maybe he'll only have to deal with it for two seasons though.
