Enfield 1893

Recommended Posts

To hell with 1893. Hope the FA stick them in Spartan South div 2. they are a brand new club claiming the history and badge of a once great but now defunct club. they have crushed Brimsdwon Rovers FC and they also turn their floodlights off when they are losing!!!

Best of luck Enfield FC (1893)

Regarding Enfield Town and their responses, i wish them what you wish Enfield 1893

You were the breakaway club.

Ok they have reformed since but so have many clubs including ours and all those clubs including the likes of aldershot,Newport county to name a couple use the same history

Exactly always viewed Afc wimbledon and Enfield town in the same way, break away "new" clubs who have no right to any of the history, Enfield 1893 were the original. I thankyou....lol

i will try to remain impartial on this (although my opinion of 1893 makes it hard)

Enfield Town made everyone well aware that they were taking there stands from Brimsdown a long time ago !

So it is quite obvious that 1893 have not been able to replace them ! Simples !

So this is why the grading has not been achieved.

to me this is just pure karma . They tried to cheat their way to winning the league in 2007/2008 and now that theyve won the league properly theyve been denied going up .

Cheats never prosper .

It seems simples, but I heard that no date was given when the stands were going, just that they were going.I also heard that the league originally agreed that stands were to be brought in once the other ones had gone

Trenks Totally agree !

Rob your a clunt x

So you think a team in a totally different town is entitled to the history of Wimbledon FC? Says a lot about you!

Clubs are more than names. They are the supporters and traditions as well.

Enfield Town have never claimed the history of Enfield FC and to most supporters of the once great EFC the club is defunct. 1893 are not the same club and never will be as they have very few of the traditions and even less of the supporters.

these towners are a bit touchy.

Enfield Town may not claim the history of the old Enfield Fc but they go on like its the same bloody club.

They are worse than Romford fans for harping on about the good old days. And just like Romford Fans they slate their local rivals and hate it when the shoes on the other foot

Well, as someone on here has posted. They are putting in new stands. How can they put in the new ones, until the old ones owned by Enfield Town FC get removed?

Plus, it's very harsh for the Townies to rub salt in on their foes. Especially as they are getting taxpayer money for their Stadium renovation!!!!

That's simply not true Rob, Romford are a forward looking ambitious club that only rarely discusses our glorious past.

Yet what you do say is Enfield FC 1893 BRFC is the original. A team with very few of the supporters of the original team. Just like MK Dons.

And to all those who think ETFC fans are touchy, I can assure you not all of them are, although there are some. I'm not bothered that 1893 failed to get promoted its not our problem. They were fully aware the stands were going, so its down to them to get their house in order. The one thing that winds ETFC fans (well those fans that supporters EFC) is that they continue to claim a history that they are not entitled to. This club is a totally new club and its history should reflect that, like ETFC's does. Personally, I have never looked at ETFC as the same club. The 20+ years of supporting EFC are mere memories to savour nothing more. ETFC menories start at 2001 and consist of matches with the likes of Leyton & Concord. Enfield FC 1893 history starts in 2007 and consists of matches with Stansted and Concord.

And to the Chokers nickname coupwatcoup - tell me about it. Always next season.

What are you talking about 'The Horse's mouth'? The MAJORITY of Enfield 1893 supporters have been around for years/decades, well before the unfortunate happenings of the recent past. People like you p!ss me off with your rubbish.

I think most neutrals will agree this seems very harsh. Why do teams like Waltham Forest and Ilford get constant reprievals when there is a club with a fan base that would fit in nicely with Ryman Div 1 North refused entry despite major works being done on the ground in a very short space of time.

The FA must of known about this in the first place and should have made their decision back then if this was the case?

It is only the beginning of June and I have no doubt that sufficient work would have been carried out on the ground before the beginning of pre-season, according to the website photos it looks like the new stand was installed in little over a week! its just very sad in my opinion more time was not given.

If Enfield Town's ground is currently a building site? I don't know the progress over there but why are Enfield Town allowed to groundshare until whenever so they can get their ground up to standard?

Would Enfield be allowed to groundshare if that was a possibility?

I would imagine that if anyone looked at a lot of grounds in RLN they would find they don't comply fully with FA Ground grading Regulations step 4 in there entirety, and if anyone from Enfield 1893 took the trouble and took notes, they would have a cast iron case in any appeal.

IMO Enfield have been well and truly shafted by the Rymans, and like most fair minded people I wish them well if they decide to go to arbitration.
