Enfield 1893

Recommended Posts

lots of rumours on twitter of Enfield 1893 having their ground grading rejected due to Enfield Town taking their stands with them.

To add fuel to the fire Ware have today accepted an offer to move back to the Ryman 1 North - last week they were allocated into Southern League .

Anyone confirm or deny ??

I've heard something similar. I know that Ware are definitely moving back to Ryman & rightly so. The Southern League Div.1 looks a right old mess now with all the travelling.

Thing I don't get is that the FA have given a ground grading how can they retract it - bearing in mind if you look on Enfield's website they have already replaced the old stands with what look like better & bigger ones. Surely they can give Enfield 1893 until the beginning of the season as I don't recall there being many games played in June or July.

Also a little strange that Enfield Town are allowed to groundshare for a month at Cheshunt until their new ground is ready. Is that a case of one rule for one and one rule for another???

WOW

This throws a huge spanner in the works for clubs like Witham who will be challenging for promotion

Looked like an easy season for them until now

The FA need to sort this out, they should of known the situation. They would of been informed that the stands were going with Enfield town,if they weren't informed then the stands should stay where they are until provisions are made to move them with replacements being brought in.Once again the FA and leagues show they are unwilling to help smaller clubs

EU.

You need to get your facts right before making statements like that.

Enfield 1893 were fully aware for several months of the dates Enfield Town would be removing their property to their new ground.

It has all been well recorded.

Rob. Why should our stands have to stay until replacements are found. Surely its the responsibility of 1893 to prepare for the future. ETFC should not have to suffer just because of a lack of foresight by the other lot.

if they gave enfield 1893 the ground grading in the first place, they should at least allow them to get new stands once you have taken yours.

not saying you shouldn't have them but they should never off given them ground grading in the first place,if as reported they knew you would take them.

Maybe not but it seems odd that the fa/league knew about the stands going (from what I hear) and sanctioned the grading but once the stands are gone they then back track.

Let's face it,it's hardly a problem not having the seats in place,I am sure 1893 would have sorted something out, anyhow the ryman one north hardly attracts large attendances,as usual the leagues and fa put their stupid rules first and the clubs and their fans second

I agree. My only argument with your comment was you saying that our stands should stay there until provisions were made. Not our problem.

Feel for Enfield FC (aka Enfield 1893) they deserved their promotion to the Ryman League and have to return to the esl... not good. Enfield Town fans saying it is not their problem is not going to make them many friends with neutrals..... Best of luck Enfield 1893 in getting back to the Ryman hopefully you will get this overturned.

To hell with 1893. Hope the FA stick them in Spartan South div 2. they are a brand new club claiming the history and badge of a once great but now defunct club. they have crushed Brimsdwon Rovers FC and they also turn their floodlights off when they are losing!!!
