Paul Larke appointed Bees New Manager

Recommended Posts

Paul Larke has been announced as the new Basildon United Manager,he becomes the clubs sixth Manager in five years following on from John Doyle,Jody Prevwell,Colin Cook,Jason Emery and John Higley.Paul will be bringing to the club some of his squad from his previous role as Bowers and Pitsea reserve Manager but he will also be bringing in some new players some of which have played at Gardiners Close before. The club will be looking for a top half position in the ESL and are confident of making good progression in the FA Cup and FA Vase, this is Pauls second spell at the club as he was previously our reserve Manager five years ago. Daren Burgess Head of Youth Development at the Club will be recommending players to Paul from the Under 18s who he feels may be ready to make the jump to first team football, Larke will be arranging trials shortly and contacting clubs regarding pre season friendlies. After a turbulent, uncertain few weeks the Bees now have the right people in place to take the club forward and although we are behind other clubs in preparing for next season its'all systems go' now for the Gardiners Close club as we start work on our pitch this week and welcome in a new youth side this Saturday with their first set of trials.

I think the turnover of managers at Basildon over the last 10 years tells a story on its own
